Y/N's POV:
What felt like hours later, we stopped to set up camp for the night. During that time, Todoroki hadn't spoken a single word. In fact, he hadn't even glanced in our direction.
If Bakugo hadn't been the one to suggest that we'd set up the camp then we would've kept going until the dead of night...
Right now, I was sitting alone by the small campfire Todoroki had made, the new sets of vine tents just behind me. Todoroki had dissappeared into the forest to search for some more wood but hadn't come back yet and Bakugo had gone after him a couple minutes ago. I hope they're ok.
Telling Todoroki about it was deffinately a bad idea. Now he hated me for sure.
A-and right before I told him...
He said he loved me...
He loved ME! And I ruined it in a single second...
I'm such an idiot!
A tear escaped my glossed over E/C eye, rolling down my cheek before landing on the grass just infront of me. I sniffled quietly as annother fell out of the other eye.
Espur heard me do so and whinced slightly with worry. For some reason, that made me start to cry a little harder.
3rd Person POV:
Bakugo punched his fist against the thick tree trunk, a furious scowl on his face. After a good 5 minutes of trying, he'd finally found and caught Todoroki. The blondie let out a deep, angry growl through his clenched teeth and narrowed his eyes even more.
"What the HELL did you say to her?!" He demanded, holding up his free palm and making it spark slightly.
"Nothing. I didn't say anything." Todoroki looked distant and spoke with a strong sence of finality. His voice shook a little, however, with sorrow.
"And why not?" Bakugo scrunched up his face.
"What's that even ment to mean?"
"If you didn't say somethin' then Y/N said something that you didn't feel was important enough to reply to. WHAT WAS IT?!"
Todoroki sighed and held the sticks in his arms a little bit tighter. He casually ducked under Bakugo's arm and started to walk away.
"It doesn't matter."
Bakugo ran back up to his and grabbed him by the collar.
"OH I THINK YOU'LL FIND IT REALLY DOES YOU HIGH AND MIGHTY LAVA LAMP!"
"What's a lava lam-"
"IF YOU'D BEEN BOTHERED TO EVEN G L A N C E AT Y/N, YOU'D HAVE SEEN THE PURE UNFILTERED DESPAIR IN HER EYES. YOU. DID. SOMETHING. WHAT WAS IT?!" Bakugo barked, his firey red eyes next to glowing with red-hot fury.
Needless to say, Todoroki was intimidated enough by this to finally crack. His blank expression became frustraited as he thrust the fire wood into Bakugo's arms.
"I swore to myself I'd go against everything my father wanted for me!" Todoroki snapped back, "Everthing!"
He stopped, took a deep breath and relaxed his shoulders.
"And that includes refusing to fall for the girl he picked out for me." Turning away slightly, he tilted his head to one side in a pathetic attempt to hide his heart-broken frown.
Bakugo blinked a couple times, comprehending what exactly he was hearing.
"What?"
Todoroki mearly shrugged in reply.
"WHAAAAAT?!" Sparks flew out of the blonde's half clenched fists subconciously, "ARE YOU SERIOUS?! YOU'D GIVE UP ON HER JUST BECAUSE IT'S WHAT YOUR F*CK FACE OF A DAD WANTS?"
Todoroki's eyes widened, "You... knew too?"
"W-well yeah!" Bakugo faultered slightly, not prepaired for that question, "I found out at the same time as her! I thought you cared about her enough for it to not be an issue."
Bakugo paused to see if Todoroki would speek. Eventually, he muttered out a couple words.
"I... do care." His voice sounded broken, like he didn't know if he was being honest or completely lying.
"Are you for real?! If you really cared you wouldn't be out here!" Bakugo threw the bundle of sticks at Todoroki, "You'd be back there, making sure that no matter what, you still love her!"
The words echoed through the trees slightly, bringing on a long silence between the two.
"I... I'm out here because... I don't know what to do. I do love her, I really do! I just... can't bring myself to accept that she's the one I've secretly hated for years." Todoroki lowered his head shamefully, a shadow cast over his eyes by his hair. His shoulders shook a little, his hands clenched up in fists.
"Well get your act together. Do you love her more then you hate him?" Bakugo folded his arms and glanced up at the tall trees around them, "Get back to camp when you made your choice..."
He turned around and started walking back the way he'd came. However, apon remembering something else, he half turned around to speek one last line.
"And if it's one I don't like, then I'm not gunna' hesitate to hurt you."
And with that, Todoroki was left alone in the dim forest. Left alone to think. Left alone to make his choice.
