I laid, sprawled out on the couch in the living room, tears threatening to stream down my face as Miah peeled the bandage off my lower back and wiped away the dried blood with a wet cloth.
It didn't help that everyone was watching.
Dezaray cringed, but couldn't seem to look away. “Do I have to get that, too?”
“Yah,” I moaned, “Except your's won't look as bad-ass as mine does.”
She glared at me and left the room after Desmond laughed at her. Jack then glared at Desmond.
Shivers ran up my spine as Miah massaged cold cream into the inflamed skin around the tattoo. When she was finally done, she patted my back and said, “I'm done now. You can get up, cry baby.”
I pulled my jeans up and my low-cut t-shirt down before I got back on my feet.

I felt bad, really bad. Nick was driving me to the home of the Laker pack and then he was going to drive away with out me. Betas have so much consideration for the Omegas of their packs, don't they?
He had given me strict orders to knock on the door, ask for Will, take him far out into the woods, and kill him. But I couldn't.
I had developed a massive crush on Will; I didn't want to see him hurt, much less cause the hurting myself. But regardless, I had to obey Nick, he was my boss at a job I could never quit.
I was undoubtedly screwed.
Nick stopped the car a few kilometers from the house so they wouldn't be suspicious or catch the license plate. Him being an asshole, though, nearly ran over me as he drove off. I guess to him, I was expendable.
Rodney had been reluctant to send me here, but since spying from a distance and tracking them hadn't been going as well as Alara had hoped, Nick convinced him to choose me – the smallest, youngest, and least intimidating Omega in the pack – to go.
I dove into the woods, staying out of sight while still running near the road so I wouldn't get lost in this unfamiliar territory. I finally came up to a medium sized brick house with a large backyard and forest all around the lot.
From what I saw in pictures, this was the house I was looking for.
Knock on the door and ask for Will. I reminded myself.
My heart sank into my stomach at the thought of killing him. I didn't want to, but I wasn't allowed not to.
One person's blood on my hands was enough for a lifetime. Alara and I had been assigned to kill Colin Welland – I held him down in human form while Alara ripped his throat out with her teeth in wolf form. Her and I both mangled the body to make it an obvious animal attack.
My heart sank lower as I realized that there was a good chance that Will knew of his death, because news like that didn't need CTV to reach each pack.
Every wolf knows that when a wolf of a neighboring pack is killed and it's declared to be an animal attack, something's up.
My chest heaved as my nerves got the better of me when I rang the doorbell.
The girl I remembered to be Sarah answered the door, jaw dropped, and eyes wide with surprise. I gulped. The whole pack was there, plus two additional ones that I didn't recognize.
“What the hell are you doing here?” she snapped.

“I'm here to see Will,” she asked, waves of anxiety rolling off her.
