The first thing I did on Monday morning was go to the principal's office. As I was about to say that I want to stay with Mattia, she cut me off and said there were no female openings. I was so relieved. I wasn't planning on seeing Mattia till I went back to our outhouse later. This gave me enough time to plan my speech. Kairi caught me in the hallway, he looked out of breath. He was wearing the schools soccer uniform and man did he look good in it. His hair was wild from running and his face was red. I tried my best to hold back a laugh. "Anna there is soccer try-outs. Come. Now!" with that he started running again, but this time he was dragging me along. We must have looked like complete weirdoes. Kairi left me alone on the stands while he went back to the team. I have terrible vision so I moved lower on the stands. The boys played and teams were chosen. Mattia looked pissed, he didn't make captain. The boys went into the locker rooms, but came out again. The boys lined up in front of me, except Mattia. I really need to fix thing between the two of us. The boys started talking and I couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable they looked. Something was off, but with these four idiots a person can never know. Mattia finally came out of the locker room. "Y'all are pigs. Go wash you smell like road kill." He told them while holding his nose. "Uhm, Mat can you take Anna back for us? Okay, thanks!" after Alejandro's comment the four boys ran to the lockers. They are all going to regret this.

The walk back was silent. It wasn't until we got back to the outhouse that Mattia finally said something, "I'm sorry". Had I not been so close to him I would not have heard it. His voice was soft, but meaningful. I looked at him and saw the regret in his eyes. His face was chubby, had we not had such a bad start I probably would of pinched his cheeks. I wondered for a second if it would be appropriate to hug him. But it didn't take long until I found myself wrapping my arms around him. He felt like a plush toy. It took him a while t process and return my gesture. We stood like that for a minute, no awkward feeling, no words said. I felt like silently we talked things out and were now ready for a new beginning. When we got into the outhouse I plugged my computer into the TV and started watching the kissing booth. Mattia plopped himself on the sofa with me. "Are you seriously watching this crap." He reached to see what other movies I had. "We just made up, if you change my movie I will destroy you." I didn't even take my eyes off of the movie. Mattia sighed and moved to put his feet over my lap. I looked at him wanting to say something, but rather bit my tongue. Sometimes you just have to let things slide.

I woke up the next morning in my bed. I don't remember walking here though. I got up and saw Mattia in the kitchen making two cups of coffee. "I thought you were done with booty calls." I grinned. Mattia didn't look too pleased. "I'm-" "Listen Anna, can we just be friends. You don't know me as well as you think nor do I know you. So can we not be complete assholes to each other and try to make things work between us." I was left with my mouth hung open. I don't know why he took that so harsh. I closed my mouth and tried to register that this is the same boy I moved in with a month and a half ago. His mom was right he really did change, not much, but he did. And I think I might just like this new Mattia.

"So I've told my parents I'm not coming home this weekend. You've spent a weekend with all of the boys and now it's my turn." Were Mattia's final words to me before he left for class. I decided to stay in my room today. I felt slightly under the weather due to the changing of seasons. I was just about to fall asleep when someone started banging on the door. I marched over to see the boys standing there. Kairi was the first to hug me, a feeling that sent shivers down my spine. "We thought he killed you," Robert sighed. Robert was the strange one in the group that always assumed the worse possible situation. "I'm fine guys, just a little under the weather." The boys came in and decided that they would all take off sick today and watch movies with me.

Things were going good, until Mattia came back. He chased all the boys out and I realised how afraid everyone was of him. Mattia was carrying a bag from the local store. "There's some soup in here, mom sent it. I told her you seemed sick this morning so she dropped this off." With that said he put the bag on the table and went to his room. He soon reappeared in his pj's. He took out a bowl and pored soup out for me. I ate in silence as he put on a movie, I didn't catch the name nor did I see the ending. Once again I fell asleep on the couch and Mattia picked me up and put me in my bed. So this was the sweet side of Mattia everyone talked about. Maybe being stuck with him for the rest of the year won't be so bad. I woke up with Mattia opening my room door. "I brought you some coffee, two sugars and no milk, just the way you like it." I pinched myself under the blankets just to make sure I'm not dreaming. New Mattia is sweet and all, but it's scary.

Please don't forget to hit that star.
