It looked so beautiful, your eyes glimmering in the light that flew past your window. It looked like starlight but fell less gracefully then any star. You raise a brow, sure you could hear a faint scream from the sky. The heat was probably playing tricks on you, wiping away sweaty strands of (H/C) hair from your face. Even just looking into the sky was exhausting. You sigh deeply, hearing the doorbell ring and knowing you now had to resort to moving once again. You stumble lazily  to the door, almost singeing yourself on the hot metal handle. You wince in pain as the hot metal burns your skin like a flame, quickly opening the door to greet the delivery man who for the most part looked very tired and somewhat distressed.
" That will be £25 " You reach into your pocket, pulling out what you owed with an irritated huff. You had never intended to spend so much on a meal for one, the takeouts in your area being closed for the most part and the only one open had a minimum spend total and service charge. This was more a meal for three.
Oh well, at least there would be no cooking for a few days. You trade your money for food and kick the door closed, placing the plastic bag on the table before sitting down.
Damn you were tired! Ripping open the bag, you place each carton of food on the table and dug in.
It was bad for you but damn it tasted good! However, among the silence of the room you find your mind wandering.
What had that thing been that fell from the sky? It didn't look natural or like any meteor you had ever seen. Then there was that faint scream. The streets were empty so where did it come from? We're you just going crazy?
Likely.
Being inside so much due to the heat had done something to you.
Perhaps that falling object didn't even exist, a figment of your imagination brought on by the freak weather. You didn't really know. All you could do was sit and eat for now and see what tomorrow brought. Perhaps ask around to see if anyone had heard of it and soon you find your mind becoming restless and soon find yourself deciding to finish your burger and retire for the night.
Perhaps things would be clearer after slumber.
However, little did you know that was the last peaceful sleep you would have for a while. Things were about to get freaky, the being pulling itself out from the smoking wreckage would make sure of that.
