Chapter 5: Wonderland

Virgil walks around, tail swinging back and forth as his ears were raised high. He immediately bounced up and down as he saw teddy who was about 3 inches taller than Janus "Tewddi!" Virgil screamed in excitement. Teddy usually had a red t-shirt on with a yellow star with a peach stomach and brown skin. His button eyes connect with Virgils and his stitched mouth turned into a smile "Virgil! How are you baby?" Teddy addressed making sure he used a nickname that would be suitable for the 3 year old. Virgil jumped into teddy's arms "I is gud!Howz yow tewddi?" Virgil asked Teddy "I'm great thank you, do you want to know a secret?" Teddy answered/asked. Immediately Virgil perked up, and not just his ears did, "Ywes!" Virgil answered Teddy bent down to the toddlers height and brought himself to Virgils ear. "My name is Thomas" Tedd-Thomas whispered and Virgil gasped as stars lit up his eyes with his tail swishing back and forth repeatedly. "Yowr nam' is Thomws?" Virgil asked surprised "Yep, cool right? Well I've got a surprise for you" Thomas said Virgil looked up to him "Weawly?" Virgil questioned "Yeah come with me!" Thomas said getting up and skipping away as Virgil struggled to keep up. Unexpectedly, Thomas picked Virgil up noticing how he struggled.

Finally, they had reached their destination, there was a dining table with cute chairs around it. There were only trees and a few paths covering the table "Hey Tho-.." A woman-bunny cut herself off as she saw Virgil. "Who is that" A man-duck asked obviously male, "Hey guys this is Virgil, Virgil this is Valerie" Thomas said pointing to the half bunny woman  "And this is Terrance!" Thomas said pointing to the half duck male. Terrance had the nose and tail of a duck but apart from that he was a man and Valerie had the ears and nose of a bunny. "Hey Virgil I can tell we are going to be great friends!"  Valerie said enthusiastically as she made her way to Virgil and out-stretched her arm "Mwe two!" Virgil replied taking her hand and shaking it. Terrance made his way to Virgil a swell except he was more careful "It's Ter-rific to meet you Virgil" Terrance said with a pun as he also outstretched hand for Virgil, Virgil took his hand while saying "Imz o' thwe Verge ovf hoappieness meting yow two!" Everyone bursted out with giggles.

"When you come back I might be able to introduce you to the rest of my friends!" Thomas told Virgil, Virgil's ears came down and his tail stopped swishing. "I is weaving?" Virgil asked (again) "Well- uh yeah but don't worry! We'll see you next time and I'll introduce you to Joan, Talyn, Jon, Ca—.." Thomas cut himself of seeing the saddened look on the toddlers face with his ears down as well as his tail. "Look" Thomas bent down to Virgils height (which took a lot of effort) and hugged him "We'll always be here for you" Thomas reassured Virgil. "Well you have to go now" Valerie stated, disappointed "So, come with me" Valerie said going to a tree with a giant hole going down. Virgil followed gulping hen he realised what Valerie wanted him to do, "Hop in, I promise it's safe" Valerie said promising "Owkay" Virgil replied, hopping down , down, down , down, down.

Suddenly, Virgil awoke with a jolt banging his head on his crib which alerted whoever was awake that he has not only woken up but hurt himself in the process. Remy ran in the room as Virgil started to cry due to his newly-formed headache. "Shh, shh it's okay" Remy whispered/shushed while cradling. Remy rocked Virgil back and forth while rubbing his head and ears to ease the pain.

Eventually, Virgil fell back into the world of slumber except there were No magical Teddies or bunnies, nOt EveN dUckS!

The thing Virgil has on his mind was; When will I see them again?
