When Kurt saw him, he didn't know what to do. He didn't know what had happened or what he was even witnessing. All he knew was that he was alone with what looked like Blaine in a empty hallway. It was Blaine, but it didn't feel like him. His hands were balled into fists and his head rested on top of them.

"Calm down, Blaine." He whispered. "Calm the hell down."

As much as Kurt wanted to ask him what was wrong, he got the feeling he wasn't supposed to be seeing it at all. He kept mostly hidden behind the wall until Blaine got up and walked in the opposite direction. Kurt found his way back to class and sat down. A few seconds later, Blaine was two seats behind him being his usual cheerful self.

****************

After school, Kurt and Blaine silently walked back to their dorm. When they got there, Blaine pulled out his key and let them in. There was still a lot for Kurt to unpack since he owned every scarf in Ohio, so Blaine offered to help... again.

This time, Kurt didn't object. He didn't want to offend his roommate the same way he thought he did before. After all, the unspeakable box was hidden in a spot that Blaine wouldn't have to look in.

"So... where does this one go?" Blaine asked, holding up a black and red striped scarf.

It was the 17th one he'd picked up.

"With the darker colored ones. They're for winter and it's freezing here all the time anyway..."

Blaine wasn't so sure about that news, but he thought Kurt just got cold easily. Of course, that wasn't the case.

"So... when were done with this, did you want to meet the Warblers?"

"I-Isn't that a type of bird?"

"It is..." The gelled boy laughed. "But it's also the name of our show choir group."

Kurt gasped. The last time he'd heard about show choir was three years ago at McKinley High...

"Hey, look, there's the gay kids!" Angel laughed.

"Hey, Kurt! Got a boyfriend, yet?" Azimio smirked.

Kurt, Rachel, Mercedes, Artie, Tina, Sam, Santana, Quinn, and Brittany were leaving Glee club and bumped into the bullies. Most of them shuffled along, with the exception of Santana, who must've used every insult she could possibly think of, stunning them for a minute. But after she left, they stopped Kurt from following.

Karovsky's smile faded when he saw Kurt. He'd wanted to join in, but the look on Kurt's face said he'd been hit too hard. It was similar to the one he held today on a regular basis. Cold, empty, and expressionless. The first thing Angel did was shove Kurt into a nearby locker. Kurt didn't react the way they'd expected him to. This angered Angel to the point where he wanted to do it again.

So he did. It wasn't long before bruises covered most of Kurt's back. It was scary, humiliating, and somehow still expected. It wasn't until Angel kicked him in his stomach that Kurt let out a sharp cry. Satisfied, Angel moved along with his crew, making a mental note to hit Kurt there again next time.

He was stone cold, and enjoyed the satisfaction Kurt's pain brought him. Everyone did except for Karovsky, who was starting to worry. By the time he came to his senses, Kurt had moved away. His worst years had been over, or so he thought.

"Kurt!"

Kurt hadn't even realized the moisture in his eyes until Blaine started calling his name. Memories like these hadn't been brought up in so long, the emotions had been suppressed for even longer. Once the tears came, they couldn't be stopped for a while. Blaine was obviously confused with the outcome. Kurt stood frozen, trying to keep the tears from spilling over.

"Kurt, I'm... I'm sorry.... Are you okay?"

Even though his face suggested otherwise, Kurt quickly nodded. The conversation drew to a close and they both found their phones. It was mostly quiet after that, Blaine texting Nick about Warbler Practice and Kurt trolling Instagram. There seemed to be an unspoken code of silence while Kurt calmed himself. It wasn't until Jeff and Nick nearly knocked the door down that Blaine left to give Kurt some space.

"Feel better, Kurt." Was all he said.

***********

"How are things?"

"Good.... I met my roommate a-and he's..." Kurt paused. "Nice...."

What he'd wanted to say was cute, hot, adorable, the best thing he'd ever laid his eyes on, but of course, there's no way to say that to your dad who might have a heart attack as soon as you tell him you're gay.

"Good. Try and make friends there. You're an good kid, Kurt. Show them that."

"I will..." Kurt whispered.
