~ ~ Chapter Six ~ ~
Yep. I was thinking moving was a big option for me right now, I was even half expecting Philly to jump out from behind somewhere random near my work and join the harassment gang. Dougy had convinced me to go get some coffee with him at one of the twenty four hour diners around the block, so I messaged Amberly and said I would be home later.
So far we have walked in silence. I already know I'm going to punch Baden really hard for dobbing me in to Dougy and telling him where I worked. I thought I had made it pretty clear I wanted no one to find me. Great, now even some of my old personality is coming back after I've worked hard at keeping myself a blank empty hole.
Damn men!
"Black doesn't suit you." Dougy muttered as we walked up the short steps to the diner doors.
I shrugged, "Like I care what you think."
He shot me an annoyed look, "I'm still your big brother, there is nothing you can do to change that. You can keep pushing Baden away but not me." he snapped lightly.
I kept my face blank as I stared at him with only boredom on my face and nothing else.
"I knew he blabbed." I mumbled softly.
We sat down in the far booth and a tired looking waitress walked up to us, eyeing us carefully, looking Dougy up and down a bit more but it wasn't with lust, it was with fear. I smiled slightly on the inside. Dougy did still have the rough 'been fighting all day long' look to him still.
We both ordered coffee but I also got a burger with fries, so I didn't have to worry about making something when I got home later.
I was staring off out the open windows because Dougy was staring at me intently, he wouldn't stop and it was beginning to annoy the crap out of me. Finally I glanced back to him, met his eyes and glared at him, "Stop staring." I growled.
He smirked slightly as he shook his head gently, "I got told over a year ago you were last seen in this city, I've been here ever since searching for you, along with Phil and Jeff, Baden joined us about six months ago when he was released on good behaviour."
I scoffed at that, good behaviour my butt, he broke my bosses fingers for crying out loud.
"What? Am I meant to feel special now or something?" I asked rudely, I wasn't going to be nice, I can't let them back in, not any of them, "Did you ever think I didn't want to be found? I've already told Baden to leave me alone and I'm going to tell you the same."
Dougy smirked bigger as he tilted his head slightly to the side, "You turned into quite the little fire cracker but Lee, you have no idea what any of us are capable off, who we know, what lengths we will go to - to keep you safe and here with us. There is nowhere you can hide that we won't find you." he warned.
Okay, so he was taking the 'making threats' against me approach, Baden was taking the whole 'I miss and care about you' approach. I wonder what Phil will say? Jeff, well, I've never really known him, so I guess he just doesn't count.
I smiled slightly, it only just reached the corner of my lips and I'm not even sure if Dougy noticed it, "I managed to stay hidden for four years from you all, I think I can do it again."
Just then the waitress came back over with my meal, she placed it on the table in front of me and sent me a warm smile as her eyes flickered over to Dougy, "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
I nodded slowly, "Yeah, get my brother to pull the stick out his butt." I glared at Dougy who only grinned back at me as he shook his head with a soft chuckle.
