I was working on my choreography with my designated group of girls for our routine, we were laughing as we were working on a particularly sexy move.
"Ahhhh, mentor Lihua, I can't do this!" One girl whined cutely. I chuckled and released them for a little break. They left the room along with the camera crew. I decided that it would be best if I kept perfecting the routine as I am supposed to be better than the trainees.
I went through the routine midway when the door bursted open. My eyes widened when I saw Kun walk in as I was dancing. I was about to stop when he motioned me to keep going. This is so embarrassing... I'm literally shaking my hips and rolling around on the floor while he watched me from the back.
The song ended and I was left heaving by myself.
"I got a call. We are going to be doing an advertisement together."
I quirked an eyebrow, why?
"What will we be advertising?" I inquired while I went to go get a drink of water.
"A perfume commercial." I paused, perfume commercial's can go in two totally different directions.
"What kind of perfume?"
"It's a sensual ad." I wanted to cuss aloud. Why is the world testing me like this?
"Okay, when and what do we have to do for this?"
"In a week, we have to choreograph a two minute routine together." I sighed, I can clearly see where this is going.
"Okay, let's meet after filming today and start this."
He nodded in agreement and left leaving me all by myself once again. I sighed, this was the last thing I wanted. Ever since our talk by the water, we haven't spoken much. It was kind of like when we were first worked together, just purely speaking for what we would say on set. And I wanted to keep it this way, I'm not entitled to be in his business, but something was obviously going on between him and Esther.
I knew that I couldn't keep doing this, I desperately needed to get over him.
During this time, though, I was forcing myself to get over him, but they do say that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
"Hi, mentor Lihua! What were you talking about with mentor Xukun?"
The girls along with the filming crew walked back into the room soon after Xukun left. They probably saw him exit.
"Ah, we were just discussing something, nothing much!" I chuckled and they nodded, a couple looking suspicious, but they didn't push it.
"Alright, from the top ladies."
~~~
"Mentor Lihua?"
I shot my head up from dozing off, I guess I haven't been sleeping well lately.
"Ah, hi Xin Liu!" I nodded slightly her way while quickly getting up from my spot.
"I came to ask a question about our upcoming performance."
"Of course!"
I worked with her, and it was great, the girl had so much experience under her belt. In reality, she was more of a star than I was and I should honestly ask her for advice instead.
After a few minutes of going over some tricky choreography movements, she bowed lowly to me.
"Thank you so much for working on that part with me. It has been bothering me for awhile."
"I actually gained a lot of insight from you as well! I really respect you as an artist if I'm going to be frank with you."
She brought her hand up to her mouth as she blushed. I chuckled.
"I actually wanted to ask you one more thing."
"Anything."
"I'm not usually one to pry into people's business, but I was just concerned for your mental state. Has something happened between you and mentor Xukun. You do not have to reply obviously."
I sighed, even though this hardworking woman was working her ass off on a survival idol program, she was still so perceptive to her surroundings.
"I guess you could say that, but it's not too big. Nothing you should concern yourself over. Thank you for checking in though!" I said gratefully.
"I know I'm just a trainee, but please talk to me if something is on your mind and you need to speak about it."
I smiled, feeling giddy, "Thank you, Xin. Same with you as well. You must be very stressed."
"Thank you, Mentor Lihua. I'll take my leave." She bowed with a sweet smile and left, leaving me in my own thoughts.
~~~
I sighed, Xukun and I were working on our perfume routine, but we were just not connecting. Our timing was off, we weren't in sync with one another, all in all, we were a hot mess, literally.
We sat on the ground, both equally frustrated with one another and ourselves.
"Alright, that's enough. This damn commercial is in two days and we still look like trash. We need to start with why we aren't in sync."
I stood up and raked a hand through my hair. I heard him scoff and my eyebrow shot up at his behavior.
"I believe it's you that's the problem, Lihua. You're always a beat behind."
"Are you really childish enough to think that this isn't also your fault? Grow up, Xukun."
He stood up and marched over to me. He stopped in front of me and we stared into one another's eyes challengingly.
"Says you. You are out of your head since you're so obsessed with me. Can you not get past your little crush for me for this one project?"
I deadpanned in shock, "Are you really that ignorant? You... you who is so in love with Lisa Manoban, that you can't get your head out of your ass and wake up to the reality that she's WITH ANOTHER MAN?!"
"I'm not in love with her! Yeah, okay, I had a crush on her! I admit it! But I'm over it and it seems like you are so blinded with jealousy that you won't ever receive the same attention as her, whether that be from more or the world!"
I narrowed my eyes, my defensive instincts in overdrive, "Oh it always comes back to me, huh?! You disgust me with your selfishness, your ignorance! It would really be awesome if you acted the way you did with the trainees, treat me with respect for one god damn second! But no, you're acting the exact same way you did when we first met. You may be a hotshot right now, XuKun, but it will catch up with you one day, mark my words you selfish piece of sh*t!" I spat.
"You don't deserve my respect, Lihua! You were spoonfed by Yixing with no hardships! You have done absolutely nothing to earn my respect!"
I choked and I took a step back. Hot tears quickly fell from my eyes, betraying my goal to not let him get the best of me.
Unconsciously, I raised my hand and went down on his cheek. He now faced the side, shock evident on his face with a red stain painting the smooth surface of his cheek. We both soaked in what happened. It became too much and I ran out of the room to clear my mind. I went to the hill over the water. It was now night time, the moon shining high over the water. It would have been beautiful, but my sorrow poisoned all my senses, leaving me crouched, crying into my arms pitifully.
I hate you, Cai Xukun. I hate you so much.
