"Hey, Lisa!" I spoke with Lisa on the phone, happy to speak with the girl.
"Hey, Babes. How have things been over there?"
"Been better."
"Oh, what's wrong?"
I explained everything that had happened with Xukun as she carefully listened.
"Oh, Lihua."
"What?" I barked at her condescending tone.
"How do I put this? You both are extremely stupid."
"Yes I know, but he's the dumber one!"
"I won't disagree with you on that, but I really wish you two would just confess."
"He doesn't like me, Lisa. I caught him all over Kyulkyung for god's sake! I don't think he gives a damn about me. I was planning on just moving on from this show and never think of him again."
"You and I both know that once you're passionate about something, you never forget about it."
"Lisa..."
"Listen, Lihua. I am going to say this in your best interest, we both know you like him a lot. Even though you don't think so, I think he really really likes you. I see the way he looks at you when we are on video calls for the show, okay? Take him or leave him, but no more of this dramatic stuff."
"Huh, I get it Lisa... I'll talk to you soon, okay?"
"Of course, Babe. I'm expecting good news."

We finished the final showcase for the debuting group of girls and now we stood backstage, giving our final remarks on everything that has happened. Basically stuff that will make the viewer cry.
"Mentor Lihua?"
I spun my head to see Xin walking towards me hesitantly. I threw my arms wide and hugged her, "congrats on such an impressive achievement! You really deserve it."
"Thank you, Mentor. I just wanted to personally thank you for everything you have done for me throughout this show, for all of us. We didn't express it enough, but your presence and advice really helped the girls out."
I smiled warmly which she mirrored, "Thank you, Xin. Please keep in contact with me!"
She bowed once more and left me alone. I was going to miss the sweet girl. I know she's going to do great things in this industry.
~~~
I sat in my mentor dorm room, still in my fancy wardrobe from the final ceremony. My stuff was all packed in the corner. Sadness ate away at my heart, this would be the last time that I was here. You always forget to appreciate until it's almost or already gone.
"Lihua." The door was open with a shy Xukun standing there, his pretty suit still adorning himself from earlier.
"Yes, Xukun?" I let out gently.
"Could..." He coughed, plucking up some more courage, "Could you join me on the rooftop, one last time?"
I nodded, following him up to the sight that I would never see again. We both leaned onto the railing, letting the cool night air do the talking for us.
Xukun left his spot, but I didn't bother to look at where he went. Suddenly, some soft, familiar music started playing behind me. I turned around to see a speaker on the table, Xukun standing at the center of the rooftop with offering a hand.
Without a word, I walked over and placed my hand in his. Just like that one night, he placed his hand on my waist and I immediately placed mine on his shoulders. We slowly swayed, almost looking like we should be in a movie together. The soft, sensual music that played that one night wrapped around us as we didn't dare say a word. There was so much I wanted to say to the man, but I couldn't bring myself to at this moment.
"Lihua." He whispered out.
"Yes, Xukun?"
"I remember that one night. That night that we spoke about romance. That one night that we danced together to this exact music."
I nodded, "I'm glad to hear."
"Could you tell me what you thought about romance, or love once again?"
I looked away, embarrassed, "Love is more than physical attraction, it's when you care, appreciate, and understand the mind and thoughts of another person. It can also be a deep feeling that you can harbor."
"Have you ever been in love with someone, Lihua?" My eyes widened.
"I thought you already asked me before?"
"And I'm asking it once again."
I sighed, "I am in love with someone, yes."
He nodded, "You know, you asked me if I have been in love with someone before."
We looked into one another's eyes.
"I said yes. But I never did, I've never truly fallen in love. I only know this now because I've finally fallen for someone."
"What are you-"
"But now I know what love is. I know what it is to be in love with someone now. I am also in love with someone right now."
"Xukun..."
"She forced herself on me you know..."
I tripped in surprise, Xukun swiftly caught me before I could plunge. We continued swaying in our spots.
"I don't love her, I do have a past with her, but I don't have anything with her now, nor will I ever from this point on."
"What does this have to do with me, Xukun? It's not my business." I sighed, looking at our paralleled feet.
"But it does... You look amazing tonight, like you always do."
I chuckled as he quickly changed topics, "You look nice yourself, Xukun."
"I'm in love with you, Lihua. I've never been more sure of myself in my life." He said so suddenly, leaving the wind knocked out of me.
My heart jumped to my throat. It felt so weird coming from his mouth.
"And I was going to tell you that when I took you to the hill, but I got that call from Kyulkyung, and I realized that I had a past that I never fully cut off. It felt unfair to you, so I settled things with her, I cut off all connections or ties I had with her."
I stayed silent, not knowing what to say to the confessing male, the man I unfortunately loved.
"I love you, Lihua. Will... will you be my girlfriend?"
I smiled, feeling my racing heart settle down a little. I have made up my mind, finally.
About damn time, Lihua.
I brought a hand up to his cheek, gently swiping a thumb over it, making me want to plant a kiss over the smooth skin. A contented smile settling on my lips.
"No, Xukun. I won't be your girlfriend."
