Chapter 8- Goodbye Damon

I woke up in the hospital in District 4. Haymitch, Damon, and my mom were next to my bed. "Where's Peeta?" I asked immediately. "He's in another room in the hospital, don't worry, he's fine," said my mother, holding my hand tight. "What happened?" I asked. "I woke up from someone's screams outside, I ran outside and I saw Peeta sitting on his knees by you while you were unconscious. I knew he did something to you so I punched him in the face, "said Damon. "What! he couldn't help it, it was his hallucinations "I shouted at him. "He became himself again when he saw you die," said Haymitch.

They left my room so that I could sleep again. I waited until they were gone and I got out of bed and walked down the hall. 2 rooms later I saw a room with a sign. The sign said Peeta Mellark. I walked into his room and saw him lying in his bed. "Stay away from me. I'm dangerous!" he said. I ignored him and lay down next to him in his bed. Peeta did not push me away and allowed it. "I'm so sorry Katniss, I should never have come back," he said. I did not respond to him and I fell asleep in his arms

It's Peeta I love, not Damon. I woke up because someone said my name. I saw Damon standing in the doorway of Peeta's room. He walked away again and I ran after him. "Damon wait!" I cried. He turned and looked at me. "You were right, I never loved you and I just found out," I said. "I was just a distraction to you. It has always been Peeta," he said. And he left the hospital
