Duff drove. I sat in the passenger seat of his sleek black Corvette, sneaking glimpses of him in his black aviators. It was like a scene from a movie, the cool bad boy who just so happens to be in a band AND have a cool car with the goody-two-shoes school girl. At least, that's how it would look to someone that saw as without knowing the background.
Duff wasn't a bad boy, sure he was in a band and came off as a mysterious trouble maker, but he was actually really sweet and seemed pretty responsible. And I wasn't a goody-two-shoes, I was actually really tough and independant, sure I got good grades, but I wasn't a school girl, I hated school, I just wanted some sense of freedom, even though I didn't have the strictest parents, I still felt trapped sometimes.
Maybe that was why I was so drawn to Duff, he was cool and seemed adventurous, and I felt as if I needed that in my life. My arm rested on the center console right next to Duffs. Our hands were a centimeter apart and we were both very much aware of it. Duff went over a bump in the road and our hands moved closer, hitting each other.
And that was all we needed, just a little push, because the second my finger hit Duff's palm, he grasped my hand and held it in his. And that was how it remained for the rest of the ride. Once we got to the studio Duff and I got out of the car and headed up the stairs to a door with a dry erase board on it that read, 'Guns and Roses' Duff rolled his eyes,
"They always get the name wrong..." he said, pushing the door open and holding it open for me. I smiled,
"Thanks Duffy." I said, walking into the room. Duff walked in front of me, holding his bass.
"Sup, losers!" He shouted into the room.
There was an insane amount of instruments, a recording booth and a couple couches and chairs in the room. I looked around for the band, there was a guy with curly, black, shoulder length hair laying on the couch, strumming a guitar with his feet kicked up onto the coffee table. He looked up,
"What up McKagan?" The guy said, standing up and dropping the guitar onto the couch. His eyes landed on me and widened. He stood there for a second, staring, but then caught himself,
"Woah- er, sorry, um... I'm Slash." He said, stepping forward and sticking his hand out. I shook his extended hand and smiled,
"Hey, I'm Sophia, nice to meet you." I said, smiling.
"Yeah, you too." He said sweetly. Duff cleared his throat,
"Uh, Slash, where's Axl?" He asked, changing the subject. Slash shrugged,
"I dunno. Probably complaining about you being late. Or yelling at Steven." He said, shrugging. Duff sighed,
"Is he in a bad mood?"
"Nah, not as bad as usual. He's actually been pretty good today, so don't mess it up." Slash warned. Duff started walking to the recording booth,
"Hey Soph, think you can stay here with Slash for a couple minutes? I'll be right back."
He called me Soph. Oh my God.
"Yeah, I'm good." I said, turning to Slash, who was already walking back to the couch. He slid over so I could sit down. I sat next to him and he turned to me,
"So, how'd you and Duffster meet?" He asked, arm on the back of the couch.
"Well, I kind of um... ran into him. Literally." I said, recapping the collision about an hour and a half earlier. Slash threw his head back, laughing,
"Yeah Duff doesn't usually watch where he's going, it was probably his fault." He laughed. His brown eyes peeked out from behind his dark curls. He was pretty cute, and he was nice. Sophia decided to take advantage of the situation,
