Charlie debated whether or not to tell Jordan about the meeting he had with Janus and Neo. Granted, they hadn't told him to keep the information to himself and they were prepared to help them both, but for some reason, Charlie didn't feel like it was a good idea to tell Jordan. It wasn't that he didn't trust him or anything like that. It was just... he was afraid. He was afraid something would happen to Jordan if he told them. Or perhaps, if his father overheard them speaking of it.

The weeks passed, Jordan came back to school, and Charlie never told him. He didn't get called back into the principal's office again and life was quiet again. Had he not kept the card Neo game him, he'd pegged it all to be just another dream, or at least a vision. But he did have the card, and as much as his reality often felt like nothing but a dream, it wasn't.

Jordan and Charlie continued going out, but in the back of his mind, he still couldn't shake the vision he'd had of Janus and Carl. They'd been in love too. They'd thought they'd spend their life together. But then, from one day to another, their lives had changed completely and one of them had met their soulmate. Who's to say that wouldn't happen to them too? Perhaps one day soon Jordan would come to him with another boyfriend, one that is actually his soulmate, and say the same things Janus once said to Carl.

Charlie's heart broke at the mere thought of that happening. He hoped with all his heart that if they both had soulmates out there, that they were it for each other. He begged to every Goddess and God he could think of that Jordan would remain his. That he was his soulmate. But somewhere deep down, he knew it wasn't so. Still, he hoped.

Summer passed more quickly than any one of them would've liked, and Jordan spent most of it at Charlie's house. Not that anyone minded. Everyone, Charlie most of all, loved having him around. In fact, no one batted an eye at his presence anymore. Jordan belonged there with them and no one doubted it. He was like another son to Ariel, and another brother to Julian, Ezra and Brooklyn. He was able to play the sporty stuff with Brooklyn that Charlie wasn't keen on, and Brooklyn loved him for it. Jordan soon became Brooklyn's idol, and it was quite adorable to see him always want to sit next to him, dress like him or walk like him. Brooklyn was becoming Jordan's mini me.

By the end of summer, Charlie and Jordan was nearing their first year anniversary. Neither of the boys could believe they'd already been together that long. They had been 16 when they met, and now Jordan had just turned 17 and Charlie was 17 and a half. They weren't legal adults yet, but they were close. When they were legal, Jordan was going to move out of his father's house and get an apartment somewhere with Charlie. They wanted to go to Uni together and start a proper life together. After all, they loved each other.

As the summer progressed and the boys grew only closer, Ariel reminded them that Jordan had barely been home a handful of times all summer. As much as none of them wanted to see him go, Jordan needed to at least go back for a night, grab some things and show his old man that he was still alive and kicking. Ariel told them that his father must worry about him. She didn't know about his uncle, nor about how toxic and abusive his father really was.

Much like Charlie, she was a seer, but she wasn't anywhere near as powerful and couldn't see as much. Had she met Jordan's father, she would've been able to tell what kind of man he was. Even had she just spoken to him over the phone. But without any contact, she had no way of knowing.

Despite the boys protests, it was decided that Jordan had to go home for the weekend and he could come back to them Sunday evening. They'd text throughout so he wouldn't have to go through it alone.
