What does it mean to be brave ? what does it mean to be truly strong ? I've never gotten the answer to those two questions .

Yet I knew that one day I would have to be both brave and strong .

One problem with being brave and strong is that you can never be so infront of your mother and future wife.

The two were glaring at me waiting for me to explain myself . Seriously I'm the good twin but I was always in trouble just like Joy .

" Why is there a lion in the shed Gift?" Mother asked me angrily .

" Mama I'm sorry sir Xolo , made a mistake " I said shifting the blame to someone else.

" Then why did I suddenly fall asleep without reason?" I smiled guiltily at that question.

" Lolo , it was sir Xolo , again your not allowed to lay your eyes on spirits" he just rolled his eyes but still stared at me with an angry expression.

" I'm sorry mama , I'm sorry Lolo , you guys please forgive me it was not my intention to frighten the both of you " .

" You almost gave my father in law a heart attack " said mother . I felt even more guilty.

I was about to explain some more when my body became rigid . " Young prince sir Xolo ,sent a message to you "  the trees said .

" What is it ?" I asked curiously ."  He said you must eat the heart of your prey , only the heart , also your beloved must cook it or it will not grant you it's powers ".

"Thank you tell him I'll do as I'm told " I sighed at that wondering what the spirits were up to now .

I turned to my beloved Lolo , " I need a favour from you " he looked at me suspiciously .

" What is it ?" I breathed in and said it . " Please cook the heart of my prey for me " Lolo , was startled by that .

" Why are you cooking only the heart ?" I shrugged since even I did not know .

He nodded in agreement surprisingly . " I will do as you require but only when the night is deep and the moon is at its peak will I bring it " .

I frowned at that . " Why so late Lolo? It's dangerous " he looked at me seriously .

" There are many things you do not know about my family , Gift , I cannot meet with you without worry of putting you in danger ".

Now I was curious , " what do you mean by that ?"

" Do not ask so many questions as time will give all the answers to the questions in your heart ".

I was confused by his words , everyone seemed to be speaking to me in riddles , riddles I could not solve .

" He thinks I do not know what he has done but I do , what is done in the darkness shall one day be shown in the light " .

I nodded and decided wisely not to ask anymore questions . " Leave your window open , tonight I will visit you " .

With those words he departed with mother and I knew they went to get the heart of the lion .

I walked to the river in deep thought . Everything was going the wrong direction according to me .

People knew things I did not and for the first time it made me feel insecure . I listened to the sweet song of the trees as I passed by them.

My worries were slightly soothed by the sweet melody . I sat down on a large stone near the river and listened to the calm waters .

I wondered who was the he , Lolo , was talking about . I was very curious .

Also another thing that had been making me uneasy was the strange friendship between Lolo's family and Nosipho .

That woman was trouble and was dangerous . What's more she was too close to my beloved bride for my liking.

" She is indeed dangerous young prince but you have the power in you to defeat her "  I heard the voice of sir Xolo .

Whispers interrupted his voice and they mixed together again making me feel like I was going crazy .

" Young one think about the song of your beloved "  the trees' voices broke through the fog of whispers .

I thought about the melody played by the flute . The melody Lolo ,played for me in the forest .

It was still engraved in my heart . The whispers subsided , " sir Xolo , what is going on?" .

" Do not worry about those whispers ,they are all caused by your fears "  I was astonished by his reply .

"My fears" I asked to be sure ." Yes , there is a lot in your heart , you have too many fears and fear is the only thing that holds you back from your destiny , young prince learn to face your fears head on or they will be used against you ".

I knew he had a point , so far my biggest fear had been used against me . The fear of losing Olwethu .

I went home with a heavy heart . When it was almost midnight , I heard a sound from our bedroom window .

I looked up only to see Lolo , sneaking in like a thief . It was honestly a bit funny .

He walked closer to me and handed me a closed bowl , I thought he would leave but I was wrong .

"Are you going to watch me eat ?" He nodded. " Do you want to share it with me ?" He shook his head no .

"I  brought you  some sour milk too " he said taking out a long looking pot made of clay .

" Thank you , but why won't you eat and drink with me?" I asked curiously .

I got my answer from sir Xolo , " he's the future queen , he knows it's inappropriate to shear sour milk and lion heat meat with his future husband " .

I was surprised by that , " Lolo , your a great cook , it's very delicious " .

I smirked seeing his smile turn a bit shy . I noticed he was sitting far away from me so I decided to teased him .

" Why are you sitting so far from me Lolo ? Are you afraid I might suddenly attack you ?"

He scoffed , "as if I would be scared of that , anyway finish eating I don't have all night " .

I placed the bowl down and grabbed his hand pushing him on top of my bed . " Is that something you should say infront of the man who desires you so much ?" .

I asked him in a seductive tone . My voice turning a bit deeper than normal.

I trapped him underneath me and leaned down . I captured his soft lips and kissed him hard til he moaned .

His resisting hands now pulled me closer for more . I stopped before we could get any further .

" Let's save the rest for after we get married okay , I'll make sure to satisfy you" I said with a victory smirk.

He pushed me away angrily and began to pout . I thought he looked mighty cute.

I quickly ate what he had prepared for me and coaxed him to smile before sending him off .

Just after he left I fell into a restless sleep. My body was burning and there were roars around me from a pride of lions .

One question came to mind ." What is going on?"
