A storm howled loudly outside, the same storm I also felt in my heart.

The time had finally come, the time to start the battle that had been ongoing for a very long time .

My eyes were stern as I looked at the raindrops fall happily on the windows.

Lolo, came to my side looking very solemn, " do you think we are ready for what's to come?" He asked in a soft voice.

I nodded, holding him in my arms, " we were born ready Lolo".

I looked at our team as I said that, My grandaunt , looked at me with a rare smile .

Lunga, just looked at me in a daze as if he was a bit confused . My twin brother and Thando, had no expressions on their faces .

Mother and father said nothing as well but I could see the encouragement in their eyes .

I felt stronger than ever, even though I told Lolo, we were ready , I was trembling with hesitation.

Thunder rumbled and I looked at the night sky that was somehow adorned with a red hue , which was so unusual.

" It's time " I spoke with a strong voice .

They nodded and we set out, our grandaunt and Lunga, vanished and I knew they went ahead of us .

We walked in the rain, our feet soiled with water but we did not care much about it .

We got to the edge of the forest were our enemies were. The forest gave off an eery feeling, I knew even the forest was disturbed by the evil tainting the environment.

A sudden laugh startled us and made us more alert ." You weaklings think you can defeat us?" A woman's voice asked .

I knew it was the queen mother and she was using her real voice , not Nosipho's voice.

The voice was chilling and made my hair stand on end but I remained strong .

For my family and people I had to fight, whether I won or not was up to fate .

The ground shook as she used her powers to cause an earthquake .

I heard the villagers screaming, and stomped on the ground as well pushing the earthquake towards her .

Just then she showed up infront of me and held my shoulders, at that moment I felt myself fall into a strange darkness .

In the darkness, I was all alone, I yelled but not even an echo of my shout was heard .

I felt myself fall deeper into the darkness as all my fears seemed to manifest to life .

The fear of not being strong enough, the fear of losing my family, the fear that stood out from the rest was the fear of losing my wife .

My Lolo, so with that thought , I began to call out Lolo's name, as if he heard me a tune began to play, like a single drop of water falling into a quiet river .

" Do not be afraid of losing me my husband, for I'm your destined bride, and nothing can stand in the way of destiny" .

His voice brought me out of the darkness , I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was my wife's loving eyes .

" You are strong Gift, now show her " it was the first time I heard my English name come out of his mouth and I had to admit, I loved the way it sounded when he called me Gift .

I stood up straight and gritted my teeth, my eyes glared with determination.

I asked the spirits of the earth to
borrow me their power, with that request I began to hear whispers around me .

I knew they had accepted my request. I felt the power flowing through my veins and it felt so good.

I looked at the queen mother and sent the power towards her, she was thrown back harshly and hit a steady tree trunk.

Her eyes widened in anger, " how is that possible? How can you have so much power?" She asked in a menacing tone of voice.

I looked at her straight in the eye," anything is possible when your on the side of the good " .

With that I put pressure on her and she had a hard time trying to stand up, she looked startled by the new development of events.

Just then a shadow passed by us and pushed us all back, I looked up spitting blood from my mouth, only to see Lolo's grandfather.

A man who had always been walking holding a cane, at that time looked young and vibrant.

I was not the only one baffled even Lolo and the others were . JoJo, looked at me and said, " Gigi , we are stronger together ".

With those words I nodded and looked at all of them .

" Let the battle begin" they looked at me and nodded .
