Lexa was happy to go back to the fire house. Unfortunately it was confirmed she had a concussion so she couldn't actually get in on the action when responding to a fire call for the next two weeks, but she was able to help out around the station and continue her other chief duties. When she walked in the door of the firehouse, she headed to the living room where she saw the rest of the squad hanging out.

"Hey guys." Lexa greeted them all, smiling at her co-workers.

"Lexa!" They all greeted her, standing up and giving her hugs. Lexa never thought she'd be hugging all of her co-workers but she actually enjoyed it.
When everyone had returned to their seats on the couches all over the living room, Lexa took a seat on a couch at the end next to Indra. The tv in front of them was on, and it was turned to the news where there was a live coverage of a spelling bee. Of course they were watching a spelling bee, what else could Lexa except from this strange group of people. Lexa watched as a boy stepped onto the stage, but he looked very familiar.

"Oh my god Aden!" Lexa yelled, jumping off the couch and running closer to the tv.

"Wait is that the boy from the fire?" Lincoln asked, but Lexa just nodded, staring directly at the tv.

The announcer was giving Aiden his word, and Lexa was super excited, watching the screen. "Your word is hootenanny."

Aden smiled widely and repeated the word."Hootenanny.H-o-o-t-e-n-a-n-n-y hootenanny."

"That is correct."

Aden pumped his fist in the air and smiled brightly, walking over to sit in a chair in a row behind the announcer next to 7 other kids.

"Wow! He's so good!" Lexa yelled, staring at the boy on the screen. Then the announcer came back to center stage. "Well that's it for tonight's round of the California state spelling bee, tomorrow night our winners will be crowned and advance on to the national competition. Thank you for watching and don't forget don't worry Bee happy."

The program ended and Lexa turned around to see everyone smiling at her. "That was Aden!"

"We know!" They all chorused together.

This caused everyone to start laughing, and Lexa was happy to have people to talk to today. Then she remembered what today was. Today is Costia's death anniversary. Lexa stopped laughing rather abruptly, and felt her face heating up. Why did the pain of losing someone have to feel like this? Having fun and laughing one second and then being hit by emotions the next. Lexa needed some air, and she needed it fast. "I'm sorry I have to go." Lexa announced, heading upstairs to the roof so she could get some air and think. Lexa walked to the edge, closing eyes and leaned over the thick brick wall in front of her.

Lexa thought she was all alone, and that no one would understand what was wrong with her, but she was wrong. Lincoln and Indra both knew what the significance of today was for Lexa, and it only took one look between the two of them for them to excuse themselves from the group to check on Lexa.

When they opened the door to the roof and saw Lexa, they didn't say anything but just both walked up to her, leaning over the brick wall on either side of her. They didn't have to talk because them being there was enough. Lexa understood that they remembered what today was and she appreciated them coming to check on her.

The silence was eventually broken by Lincoln who turned to face Lexa. "She loved you so much Lexa."

Lexa couldn't stand it, and she broke down crying. Lincoln and Indra both pulled her into a group hug, and they just stayed there comforting her.

"This is why you were drunk at that bar last week huh?" Indra asked, and Lexa pulled away from the hug and nodded.

"Lexa have you ever thought about seeing a therapist?" Indra asked, concerned for her friend.
