The sky is dark and gray with many clouds in the sky. The air smells like rain and you look out the window to see if any rain drops have fallen from the sky.
Suddenly there was a loud thunder right above the house.
The cats jump off the couch and run off somewhere else in the house.
"It looks like it's going to rain." You said.
A few minutes later it did start to rain as you watch the rain drops down from the sky splashing down onto the ground below and into your swimming pool. The water of the swimming pool slowly behinds to raise, ugh now I have to drain the pool later.
The sky begins to get more dark and the rain starts to really pour down now and you can hear the rain hitting your roof of the house and the wind starts to pick up.
"I hope the power doesn't go out. It's really starting to rain harder outside." Taylor said
"Remember when the power went out last time. We where in the dark for hours until it got really late and when we went to bed and got settled in it came back on." I said.
"Yes. And we couldn't find any flashlights so we had to use our phones until our batteries went dead." Taylor said.
Suddenly we hear a loud thunder right above our house.
"Wow that was loud." I said.
Then another loud thunder rumbled above our house again and we saw a flash of lightning outside of the window.
"Did you see that?!" Taylor yelled excitedly.
"That was so bright. It was close by." I said.
Suddenly the power went out and you both groaned in frustration.
"Y/N, can you find the closest to get the flashlights?" Taylor asked.
"Yeah let me try." You replied.
You carefully walked through the house in the dark occasionally bumping into things until you finally found the closest.
You fumbled around the closet until you grabbed what you think is a flashlight, you pushed something and the flashlight turned on.
"Oh thank goodness." You said happily and you found the other flashlight.
"Here they are." You said handing Taylor one.
"Thanks, Y/N." Taylor said.
Taylor and I sat on the couch for the next few hours watching and listening to the storm until the storm passed.
