The Chain, Unbreakable

A chain is made of links,
Metal and strong.
Supposedly,
It shouldn't break.

They told me as a child,
That this chain was a treasure,
It was silver and gold,
Steel and iron unbreakable.

But if said chain was brittle,
If one link is unsure,
If one link is unhappy,
Then it will break.

A chain is a group,
Working together,
To bind things,
To hold them close and dear.

If one doesn't work,
It's destroyed may fail.
Shattered.
Broken.

Never break the chain,
The chain one will give you.
Add the links,
Try and make it stronger.

Don't ruin it.
But if you have to, please do,
Go ahead, and fracture it,
For you'll end up broken too.

A chain is not a chain without its links.
It'll be divided,
It'll be useless,
It'll be thrown away.

What if a link makes a mistake?
Or if it loses its hold and grip?
What if one refuses?
To belong to a chain that accepts?

Remove it,
Close the chain,
Hold the remaining close.
Before you get destroyed too.

To all those who had best friends who abandoned them 😞

Sometimes you have to let goooooooo and find more friendsssssss
