Kaelynn's POV
I lead Yanyan to the empty room. The same one I cried in when my father threatened me with Yanyan.
"Yan. I think we should go our separate ways." His expression falls as I expected.
"What do you mean? Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you, just please don't leave." I take a deep breathe.

I can't believe I'm about to say the most cliché line in break up history.

"It's not you. It's me. I'm just too broken to love someone fully yet. I'm an emotional wreck, my life is a current mess. You deserve someone better. Someone who has their shit together and that someone just isn't me right now."

Yanyan runs his hand through his hair and heaves a deep breath.
"I can't change your mind. Can I?" I shake my head right before he engulfs me in a hug.
"I love you. I always will. Please don't forget me. Somehow, I believe we're meant for each other and I will find you again no matter what it takes."

I don't know if it's what we've been through or just a whimsical thought but I believe his words. I know we'll find each other again.

Yanyan's POV
Her decision hurt me, I'll say that much but I hold no malice. I couldn't if I wanted to. I meant what I said though. I will find her again and maybe then we'll finally be okay.

A/N : Will you believe me if I say I cringed writing this? Wonder what I'll think of this book in a few years 😅.
