The Beginning
“Dear, you’re not going to have your morning jog?!” Aunt Marry asked. It was five in the morning, usually this time I’m already in my jogging pants and shoes, to have a run or two around the neighborhood. Sometimes together with Mina and some of guys from the party. But not today.
“No.” I said moodily, taking another sip on my coffee.
“Why not?!” She asked again, opening the kitchen cabinets one after another.
“Because,” I followed her every movement with my eyes, “I know that I’ll see someone I don’t want to see, if I do.”
She giggled. “Mathew?!”
I glared at her. “I just don’t know how he always ‘happen’ to be wherever I am. In my jogs, at the park, the grocery store…Everywhere!”
“Maybe it’s just a coincidence, dear. Our town is not that big.” She said, smiling cheekily.
“Or maybe, someone is helping him stalk me around!” I accused, giving her a pointed look.
“You think so?!” She chuckled, innocently. I can’t believe I’m being betrayed at my own home!
I kept quite after that and continued sipping on my coffee, there’s no point in talking to her about it anyway.
“I’ll go buy some stuff for breakfast. You don’t need me to get you anything?!” I shook my head. “Okay. I’ll be back in a jiffy. Your tummy can wait a bit, right?!”
“Take care, Auntie.” I just rolled my eyes as she giggled, and walked towards the front door after she gave me a kiss.

I sighed heavily in exasperation. I was supposed to enjoy myself in this vacation. But with Matt present at every corner of this stupid town, and our talk always bugging me on almost all of my waking hours, I doubt I’ll ever have that enjoyment and relaxation I was hoping.
My musing was cut short by my phone’s vibration in my pocket. Who would be calling at this time of the day?! I wondered as I fished it out.
“Hello?!” I answered, without even bothering to look who it was.
“Wishing Well!!!” Answered Haru’s excited voice.
“Haru!!!” I exclaimed happily. “Hey! How are you?!”
“I’m good.” He chuckled. “I just called to check on you. How’s the vacation?!”
“Not so great.” I grumbled.
“Huh?!”
“Nevermind. How’s WiCom?! You guys managing it without me?!” I teased.
“Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?!” He whined childishly. “Of course we do! Don’t think highly of yourself, stupid Wishing Well! You can stay their all you want. We don’t care! Aw! Dammit, Sora!”
“Looks like you’re the only one who doesn’t.” I giggled.
“Nah! He’s just PMSing. Aw! Why the heck are you throwing the stupid remote?!”
That made me have my first hearty laugh ever since I got here. Only the twins can really improve my mood this much. “You’re such an idiot Haru.” I giggled. “Stop getting on Sora’s nerves. He might throw the Nintendo next.”
“Wha–! Yo, dude! Hands off on my Wii, okay?!”
I giggled again. “Are you guys on a case at the moment?! It’s almost midnight there, right?!” The only time Haru and Sora would stay up later than ten in the evening, is when they’re on a case. I mean, they won’t even stay up for a school project or requirement!
