Here I am.
I sigh looking at the school building.
"Come on! Otherwise, I'll be late for the assembly." The girl who was assigned by my bus driver to show me the way to my class said with panic.
The bus driver is actually a teacher of this school but also picks up and drops the students as a side job. He is the Arabian version of Hagrid from The Harry Potter movies.
"Oh great! Assembly on my first day! Just great!" I said sarcastically.
"You do not have the assembly today, it's for the juniors. Your assemblies are on Mondays." The girl said while walking briskly.
"You are a junior?" I asked, trailing behind her, trying to catch up to her speed.
She looked back and rolled her eyes, "Well duh! I am wearing a green uniform, you are wearing a blue uniform. I am a junior and you are a senior."
"So in this school, you are a senior from 9th grade?" I asked with a hint of excitement in my tone.
She looked back and rolled her eyes again.
After passing a few classrooms on the 2nd floor, we found my class.
"Here you are... gotta rush, bye." She ran to the line of students that was forming on the corridor.
Here I stand in front of my new class.
Come on Taylor, you have been there before. It's the 10th school of your life... you have been there, you have done that. So why are you nervous now?
I am nervous because it's not just like any other school to me, I am here for a purpose and a very important and dangerous one.
I sigh deeply.
Here I go.
I hold the doorknob.
In the name of God, the most gracious and the most merciful.
I twist the doorknob.
I push.
The door opens.
I step inside.
All the students in the class turn their heads towards me.
And then...
"YAY!!!! THE NEW GIRL!!!!"
Someone jumps on me from the back and stands there almost hanging on my neck.
"Leesa, you scared her. Let her breathe properly, please." A girl with silky jet black hair said while untangling Leesa's hand from my neck.
Leesa giggles, "Sorry, I was just a bit excited..."
"...Where are you from? Are you an Arab?" Leesa asked with enthusiasm.
"No, sorry, I am from Orland." I say was an apologetic face.
"Hey, I am from Orland too." Said the girl with the jet black hair.
"Taylor." I said extending my hand.
"Ashley." She said while shaking it.
"There is another one from Orland in our class." Said Leesa while pointing towards a girl with short black hair and glasses. She smiled and waved at me from her seat.
I had a short introduction session with each of my new classmates and thankfully all of them are quite friendly.
I sigh with happiness as I take my seat.
Looks like my job here just got a bit easy.
