The New Blueprint

"Hello, agent Knight."

This voice... it's familiar, but where did I hear it before?

And then it hit me!

Eshkim!

"You know, when you are talking with someone on the phone, you should wait for that person's reply before hanging up." I said, turning back while going inside, allowing him to enter.

"I am sorry, I'll be careful about my manners from the next time." He said in a sarcastic tone trailing behind me after closing the door.

We both settled down on the sofas. I asked him, "So... what's the reason behind this visit?"

"I came to give you this." Eshkim said while handing me the envelope I saw earlier through the peephole.

"What's in it?" I asked, attempting to open the envelope.

"The blueprint of the school." Eshkim said while eyeing the bottle of water kept on the untidy dining table.

I got up and poured him a glass of water. "No need, I already have one from NIA." I said while giving him the glass.

"This is a new one." Eshkim said before putting the glass on his lips.

"Huh! What do you mean?" I asked with slight confusion.

"A new building is being built inside the property where the school stands. A businessman is donating this building to the school." Eshkim said with a hint of worry in his tone.

"What is this building for?" I asked while taking out the blueprint and observing it.

"Auditorium." Eshkim replied while keeping the half-drank glass of water on the dusty center table.

"The school never had an auditorium before?" I asked with confusion, furrowing my eyebrows while observing the blueprint.

"They have one, situated in the basement..." Eshkim said in a tone of obviousness. And then he added,"...This new building is more like a big hall room. No gallery is being built for the audience to sit and watch and also no place for building a stage is marked anywhere on the blueprint."

"Hmm." I hum while nodding.

Eshkim started observing the room from his sofa.

"I am so sorry, we just arrived today otherwise I would've offered you some snacks." I said in an apologetic tone.

"Oh, no, it's fine... it's completely fine." He said with generosity.

And then an awkward silence prevailed in the room for a few seconds. I started fidgetting with my fingers.

When will he leave?

"You are gonna have a tough time kid." He said with a smile, breaking the silence. A serious smile with a faint hint of sympathy.

I smile back with confidence and reassurance, "When do I start at my new school?"

He sighed but this sigh held a positive sense.

 "Day after tomorrow."
