"You..." She gave a low growl. "You're the one who plays that violin at the boardwalk..." She shook her head and went back into defense mood. "No matter, you are not of importance. Anyways state your name and why are you out here before I kill you." My face gave a look of shock. "W-wait don't kill me! I have a little girl to protect!" To that, she lowered her dagger and offered her hand to me. I still had a feeling of unease in my gut, so I refused her hand as I got up and dusted myself off.
"Yumi, my name is Yumi and my camp is near this spot." I nervously said to her. "Well if you were listening... That was my father and the name's Roxy." She rolled her eyes as she seemed annoyed at the fact I was here. "Get out of this spot and go back to you're camp, you have no business to be here. Or else." Without hesitation, we both went our separate ways.
Once I arrived, I could see that Katie was still asleep and safe. I laid down in my spot and tried going to sleep but I couldn't. I was too overwhelmed at the conflict I was just in with Roxy. She was stern and had a mean streak to her. Maybe it was due to her father? I kind of wanted to know but didn't at the same time. Yet soon to find out, my choice went in a unique path. I finally relaxed and fell asleep.
As soon as the morning came, we went to do our usual rounds of getting some money and supplies to build us a home. Once I had built some more of our soon-to-be home, I brought myself and Katie to the boardwalk as it was getting to be night time. We sat down on a bench and waited till Roxy came.
"What are we waiting for, Yumi?" Katie asked sleepily as she gave a yawn. "Just waiting for that girl we saw a few days ago." I said as I held onto Katie's hand as I was a bit nervous and on edge. "Oh her? Is she going to join our family?" Katie laid her head down on my shoulder. "I hope so..." I said meekly. Before I knew it, I spotted Roxy entering the boardwalk's entrance.
