Carpe Diem (to Roshkat)

302 15 16

Hidden behind beauty is as ugly as it appears,

Reminiscing on old sorrows is another broken veneer

Sunken ships don't ever sail again,

Buried away, just a carcass of concealed pain

There's truth in death and lies in life

living in a limbo, an axe for a knife

A tossed coin suspended midair

End decided halfway there...

In the gallows of darkness

Do you stand confused?

Do you lighten a few shadows?

just so you can with diffuse...

You stand broken without the faintest crack

What cant be seen can neither be put back

Show yourself, for they need to see

The scars they leave on you, I and me...

No ones to know, for your shadows whisper away

The voices need to be heard on the break of one fine day

A ball of fire illuminates the sky

but the one within is slowly left to die?

Ripples of strength will flow and fade

Any blood spilled will be left unpaid

What needs to be done is to face it through

Laugh in the face of your aching blue

Am i to think you will cower in your shell?

Be chewed and swallowed in the pain you dwell?

Nay, love, nay you have a brain and half

You're above and better than silly riff Raff

Always a tomorrow, another day to seize

Battle of lights and shadows, a war never to cease

Straighten the folds to a white washed hem

sing along, sing loud "Carpi Diem, Carpi Diem"
