Chapter 12 (Max)

"We have no place to land'' said Johnny.

"How about in owl lake" said Jinx.

"No that would be to dangerous" I said. We barely had any gas left, that's when I got an idea.

" How about we put the helicopter on autopilot, and then jump, I know that sounds crazy, but it just might work " I said. Then all of a sudden we were falling, something had hit us.

" What was that" Jinx said.

"We have been hit" Goldy said. The dogs started barking like crazy. All of a sudden the doors of the helicopter slid open and I started falling, the wind blew my hair upwards and I could hear the others behind me. Johnny was screaming, he had a really high pitch scream. I landed on the ground with a thump, I looked at my arms which were covered in bruises, I had fallen through the branches of at least 3 trees.

" Is everyone okay" Jinx said.

"yeah" I say. but I didn't anyone else answer.

"Where were Johnny and the dogs" I ask Jinx. I had gotten up and was brushing the dead leaves and dirt of my clothes. Jinx was running of in the direction of owl lake, she had ignored my question. Fog starts creeping up my legs and in the next 2 minutes, it rose even higher to my waist.. After walking a few yards we come upon a house. It wasn't a log cabin like Johnny house, it looked more like a mansion.

"where are we" I ask looking at Jinx. She shrugs. We see a women come out of the house carrying a lantern. She had long blond hair that was pinned behind her ears. She looked about Joan's age, She was wearing a white dress that went down past her feet, and dragged behind her when she walked.

" Come in" she said. she had a sweet soft voice.

"It's to dangerous to be out in these woods".

"Come in" she said again. I hesitated for a second then I walked in, Jinx was behind me the whole time. As soon as we walk in I see Johnny siting on the couch with the dogs. When they see us Noodles and Gigi started running towards us. Noodles jumped into my arms, I picked her up started spinning her around.

" I missed you" said Noodles

"I missed you to" I say back. For a second I kind of felt like we were all a family, you know me, Jinx,Noodles,Gigi,Goldy, and Johnny. But I knew that it wouldn't last.

" Hi, I'm Laura" the mysterious woman says.

"Would you like anything to eat"?

"Yes" I said, I was still hungry, and when I get hungry I dint think straight. After Laura leaves to get us some food I look around the house, it was huge. There were 2 stairs spiraling up towards the 2nd story of the house. A few minutes later Laura comes back with some ice tea and muffins. She puts them down on the table in front of us.

"Thank you" I said.

" Thank you so much" I repeat. As I stuff my mouth with the muffins. I start gulping down some ice tea. It was delicious.

" So, you haden't introduced you selves." Laura said

"I'm Jinx and this is my brother Max, these are our dogs Goldy, Gigi, and Noodles, and this is our friend Johnny " Jinx says.
" I'm princess Laura, my father is king Terence, you've probably heard of him".
