Episode 36

(Eugene's pov)

I walked into the medical building and I saw that they were keeping her warm and set down soup next to her on a table. Jack was sitting by her side and watching if she ever woke up. He looked at me and shook his head angrily. "Hey-" Jack looked at me as if saying shut up. "Eugene, you were supposed to protect her. She trusted you with her LIFE." Jack scolded me and folded his arms. "I'm sorry..." I said genuinely but he snarled. "Don't say that to me. Say that to y/n." He said then stood up, walking out of the room. I grabbed a chair and sat down next to her, looking at her pale and cold body. I gently took her hand and held it in mine. "I'm sorry y/n...please forgive me." I say, feeling tears come up to my eyes as they turned glossy. She didn't need someone else to fail at protecting her, it was my job. I failed her. I finally confessed to her and i fucked it up. "Please wake up..." I cried and put my head down and let the tears roll down my cheeks. "I can't lose you too...." I whispered to her as I looked at her pale body. Her hand was so cold, I couldn't have left her out there for that long. Could she have been wondering out on accident? Had she lost the way back and wondered out another direction? Or was the cold just that bad? It's as if this wind is trying to kill specifically us, to slow us down and make us weak.
The nurse brought in more blankets and started a fire. "She should be waking up soon." The nurse said and i nodded, wiping my eyes from tears.
Jack came back in with some water and sat down on the other side. "Does her brother know?" I asked and Jack looked at me, shrugged slightly and putting the water down. We sat in an awkward silence until she woke up.

(Kenji's pov)

I've called for a retriet. We went back to damthril and I walked through the gates, the people looked at me with fear. "People of damthril! I'm your new king!" I shouted but people stayed silent as I announced it with pride. "Y/n will be back on her own!" With that being said I went towards the castle and i went to the throne room, looking at the king and queen. I laughed slightly and looked at them, they're fearful eyes looked so dead. "Let's make our decoration match." I stomped my foot on the floor of the castle and ice covered the whole castle and froze it all. "Better." Suddenly a soldier came up to me and brought upon me some terrible news. "The king and queen of terial...they're dead." He states and I froze in my spot. "Who killed them?" I asked and the soldier choked a little.
"Empress Yoolie."

(Y/n's pov)

My eyes slowly started to open, I felt so warm and cozy. I then noticed I was in a bunch of blankets and by a fire. I looked around and I saw Jack beside me and I smiled brightly at him. He smiled back at me and then I looked on the other side and saw eugene sitting by me. My smile left and he just smiled weakly at me. "I'll leave you both alone for now." Jack said and left the room, shutting the door. "Hey..." eugene greeted with a weak smile but I laid back down. "What do you want." I say and he sighed softly, looking down shamefully. "I'm sorry..." He tells me and I looked at him with anger and frustration. "Your sorry? 'Oh yeah! Sorry for leaving you out in the storm to die after having a temper tantrum!'" I mocked as I glared daggers into his eyes and in his eyes I knew he was pained to hear me say that. "Oh sorry, can you not handle that? Maybe this can make this a LITTLE better, I have a psychotic Prince coming after me and he's trying to marry me after I've told him no and he can't accept the fact that I don't want to and can't look for another princess, I also lost my horse so thats fun, oh! Did i mention that that Prince had killed my parents?! Oh! I didn't?! Well now you know! Also I just found my long lost brother that now doesn't want to help me unfreeze the land because he's selfish and doesn't think it's his war to fight! Oh! This can make this so much better! I fell In love with a boy with a temper WHO SAID HE DIDN'T LOVE ME AND LEFT ME OUT IN THE STORM TO HALLUCINATE AND DIE OUT IN A BLIZZARD!" My screaming almost made the maid drop a tea cup. Eugene sat there and took it with tears in his eyes. "DON'T YOU SEE?! I. LOST. EVERYTHING!" I screamed at the top of my lungs with rage, leaving me out of breath as I just sit there, breathing heavily. "Your not alone...I lost everything too." He tells me and I scoffed, looking away from him and out the window. "When I was a royal assassin I was sworn to protect the king of randol at all costs." He started but I continued to look out the window. "He was the only family I ever had. My parents died in front of me when I was little." I slowly looked at him and saw him looking into my eyes with pain showing through.

"My parents were royal guards and they fought in wars along side the king. They were like a family until they had me. The king was delighted to hear they had a son. As I grew up to being a child, I was always told to stay inside when there was an attack. But this one night I decided to watch outside. It was the worst descion I could ever make. I was tackled to the ground by a one of the attackers but I was saved by my father who screamed for me to get inside. But right when I was about to, i saw he was stabbed with a large sword and my mother tried to help but she suffered the same fate. That cried for hours but a soldier carried me to the castle to protect me.
From then on out, I grew up in the castle and was trained to be a royal assassin and protect the king. It was a promise I swore to keep. I always wished I could save my parents that night and I swore I would never let the king suffer the same fate. He treated me like I was his own son even though he had a son of his own. His son was jealous but i ignored him and just did my job. There was suddenly an attack and I fought along side the king. But that was the day i failed he was killed by an attacker and I held him in my arms as he died. His last words were "You're a good son." Then he died in my arms. After the attack was over, the prince was declared the new king. He first line of action was to kick me out of the kingdom after his father died. He told them all it was my fault he died. So they drove me out. I was homeless for awhile until I got to a village and I lived there, working as an escort."

After he told me his life story, I was tearing up when I heard this. He had lost everything like I have. I hugged him tightly and he hugged me back. "I'm sorry." He shakes his head and rubbed my back gently. "Its okay. They're in a better place." I pulled from the hug and looked him in the eyes. "Will you ever go back to that kingdom?" I asked curiously and he shakes his head with a small laugh and looked away. "No, I would be killed if I did." The door opened and I saw Jack and he smiled softly at us. "I hope you guys resolved things. Y/n, there's soup there." I looked as saw that there was a bowl of soup there. I take it and start eating the soul happily. "Hopefully we did." Eugene said with a weak smile and I nodded softly. "Y/n, are we still going to try to convince b/n to help?" Jack asked, Eugene looked at me and I just looked at the soup.
"No."
