14. Fake

[name] hummed a tune to herself as she waited for Sanemi to return back to the estate where she resided in with him. A soft smile appeared on her face then as she gently placed a hand over the small baby bump she had and rubbed it.

The way the silver band glistened under the moonlight as she sat on the patio and looked up to the clear night sky. A gentle smile remained on her face then as she sighed in content as she continued to look at the full moon that was shining down upon her together with the stars she loved so much.

[name]'s action then froze as she felt the familiar cold she had always felt back then. Despite the humid night she was experiencing earlier on. She slowly stood up as she proceeded to walk into the room she shared with Sanemi.

The sound of footsteps was heard. Or was it footsteps? It didn't sound exactly like footsteps to her. She then realized the sound had stopped and she could hear her own heart pounding hard against her chest as she quickly grabbed hold of the wooden sword that Sanemi always trained with.

The sound was heard once more, and it was getting closer. Whatever was coming towards her, was coming at a fast pace. Her lavender eyes then watched as a pot was moving towards the door of the room she was in.

"A pot...?" she whispered to herself and her lavender eyes widened then as she let out a scream, only to have her vision going blank. The sound of sadistic laughter was heard throughout the estate and soon it went quiet.

No sound of breathing was heard.

Nothing was left.

His pale purple eyes widened as he stared at the empty room that was torn to shreds by an unknown source. Water was dripping everywhere, but what caught his attention was the fact that [name] was not in the room.

Something terrible happened.

His breath hitched as he tried to calm himself down. Trying to convince himself that this was just a dream, and when he wakes up, [name] will be there sleeping peacefully. He smacked himself harshly on the face, only to have his eyes widened then.

The room was still in the same state.

The lingering ominous atmosphere was still there, and soon the news he dreaded was being announced as he heard the sounds of the crows fluttering around the vicinity.

"EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! UBUSHIYAKI [NAME] IS MISSING! EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! ALL DEMON SLAYERS TO REPORT AND CHECK THE GROUNDS!" all the crows within the Demon Slayer Corps started to announce the very important news. Ubushiyaki [name] was missing, and nobody knew where she is.

The Hashiras gathered in the estate where [name] had gone missing and they stared in horror at the state it was in. Their attention went to Sanemi who was kneeling on the ground, with his hands balled into tight fists as he pounded against the tatami flooring, causing the wooden floor beneath it to break.
