I'd never noticed Elisabeth around school before. She really is tiny. I'm considered taller than average, but not tall like a freak. Just enough for guys to notice my legs.

Anyway. After that little run in with little El I begin to realise we share more classes than I had noticed. English, Biology, Phys. Ed., Health. And I realised she talked to Trent more than I had been aware of. He talks to her quite a bit in Biology and English. He tells me he's just using her to get better grades, but I see the way he looks at her.

Her and her skinny body. She looks anorexic, the little bitch.

"Can you believe that Elisabeth? No one can be that skinny," I tell Em at lunch.

"Yeah. She's probably bulimic or something." Em is, as usual, quick to agree with anything I say.

"Oh! I bet she was the one throwing up in the bathroom!" Priscilla says. I nod eagerly.

And that's how the rumour that something is wrong with Elisabeth spread. It spread faster than I thought, worse than wildfire. It evolves as it travels, getting progressively worse and worse. She enters English class after lunch and the whole room goes silent as they look at her with speculative stares. I smile to myself.

Good. Break down and cry.

But she doesn't. She just takes her seat and opens her book to the page the teacher had written up on the whiteboard.

She remains like this for the next few days, even though the room goes silent whenever she walks into it. Undaunted, I spread another rumour. About her having syphilis, from sleeping with half the male school population.

Still no reaction from Elisabeth. She just goes about her business, head down, keeping to herself.

Rumours pour out of my mouth, and soon Em and Priscilla follow my lead. Nasty gossip about Elisabeth circulates around the school. That she's sleeping with the teachers. That she does drugs, that's why she's so thin. That she sells herself for prostitution. Those kinds of things.

The kind of thing that can ruin a girl's life in high school. But Elisabeth doesn't act out of the ordinary. She's still talking to Trent about class work. Going to classes normally. Looking at the ground.

Maybe it's just that her social life is so totally non-existent that having rumours spread about her doesn't bother her. I mean, she already acts like a total freak.

People start to single her out even more. She's the last one to be chosen for teams in P.E., balls find her head easily. Her things start to disappear into the school pond, as people watch her, giggling.

She doesn't seem to be particularly bothered though. She wades into the pond and fishes out her stuff, then acts the same for the rest of the day.

Her locker is egged. She wipes it off with some tissue.

It frustrates me to no end. What will it take to crack her? To get her to stop fucking talking to my boyfriend?

"Elisabeth? Yeah, I know her," Rob says. "Trent was talking about her a few days ago."

"What?" He's talking about that bitch?! "What did he say?"

"Nothing much. That's she's really smart. And it's cute how small she is."

"He called her cute?" I'm gritting my teeth before I realise it.

"Yeah. Cute," Rob repeats, eying me carefully. My hand is still on his dick, and he knows how I get when I'm pissed. I let go of his erection, and he takes a deep, relieved breath.
