"So they're using your idea?" El asks, as I lie in her bed.

"Yeah. I didn't think so... but we are," I reply. She smiles... then her eyes narrow at me.

"You're way too perfect," she frowns. "It's so unfair for the rest of us."

"Am not," I protest.

"You're stunning – even as a guy. From a rich family. Talented at sports, and turns out you're an amazing architect too," She pouts. "Life is so unfair."

I stare at her. "Are you... jealous of me?"

"What, I can't?" she asks defensively.

"No, just. I never thought of things that way," I say. "Besides, if anyone's amazing, it's you. You're beautiful, you have a family that totally cares for you, you're wonderful at cooking and gardening. And oh yeah, you can replicate anything you've tasted once."

"That's nothing. And I'm not beautiful."

"That's not nothing. You should be a world-celebrated chef or something."

Her face turns pink. "I'm not that good."

"And personality-wise? You're absolutely perfect," I say. She stares up at me. Then our lips are touching. The pressure becomes more insistent as she sucks on my bottom lip.

"I love you," she murmurs against my lips. I don't reply. She knows I can't. Instead I start kissing her again, a hot, burning one that I want her to feel all the way in her toes. Her arms wind around my neck, and she falls onto her back, taking me with her.

I press her into the bed – kissing her harder. Then I stop, through sheer willpower alone.

"Your dad might come check up on us," I say. It takes a while, but she nods, agreeing.

"Yeah."

"I'll be back later," I assure her.

"Yeah."

I kiss her once more, letting my lips linger on hers way longer than they should.

"I'll see you later."

She nods, as I leave her room.

When I get back there later, El is fast asleep. I nudge her a few times – just thinking about her makes me hard in seconds, and I had been doing my fair share of thinking.

"Mmm..." she mumbles, and slaps my hand away, turning over.

I run a hand through my hair. Guess I wasn't getting some that night. I join her under her covers, and cuddle against her back. She relaxes in my arms immediately.

I just breathe her scent in steadily, waiting for my body to relax so I can go to sleep. But being in close proximity to her isn't helping my erection at all.

"Fantastic," I mutter. The only night I have to catch up on my sleep... And I can't sleep.

I watch El sleeping for an hour or so... before I finally get too exhausted to keep my eyes open.

"You okay?" El waves a hand before my face. "You seem kind of out of it today."

"I'm just really sleepy," I tell her.

"Sorry about last night," She says. "I spent all of yesterday trying to do today's duties, so we can go to the party..."

"You shouldn't have. Seriously. It's not going to be the party of the century."
