Have you ever woken up to water being dumped on your face? Well, that's what happened to me this morning. Me and Sam fell asleep on the roof last night, and we wake up to ice water being dumped on us.
As soon as the water touched my skin, I sprang up. "Oh my god!" I screamed. Then I looked around for the attackers. Sure enough, Kian and Trevor were standing by the door cackling.
"Oh, you guys are so gonna get it!" I yell. They sprint down the stairs. I go after them, but Sam just stays where he is. That lazy ass.
I chase them all the way down to the first floor, then outside. Apparently, a lot of people stayed last night, cause they're all in the backyard having a little pool party.
"KIAN! TREVOR!" I yell. "I'm going to kill you both!"
"Well, good morning to you too then," I hear someone behind me mutter. I turn around and its Jc.
"Jc!" I say, exasperated. "They just dumped a bucket of water on me while I was asleep!"
"I know," he says shrugging.
Just then, Sam decides to shuffle through the door to the backyard. First thing he says is, "Why the bucket of water? Why couldn't you just shake our shoulders or something?"
Jc's eyes practically pop out of his head. "Both of you inside, now."
Oh, crap. We still haven't told Jc. This should be interesting.
The two of us walk inside and I hear rounds of "oohs" and somebody saying, "Don't kill them yet, Jc. They're too young to die!" Laughter follows.
When we're inside, Jc closes the screen door and turns to us. "You slept together?!"
I sigh. "Jc, it wasn't like that. We didn't do-"
"Wasn't like that? You slept together! Either way it's bad in my book. I'm your dad."
That beings a smile to my face. My dad, Jc, being protective. Derek was never like that.
"Jc," Sam says, lacing his fingers through mine. "I asked her to be my girlfriend the other night. We were going to tell you when we found a good time, but now you know."
Jc just stares at us. I can't really tell what he's thinking. That, to me, is scarier than knowing. I mean, he knew we went in that date, and that "Salex" had been a possibility, but what if he wasn't okay with us actually dating?
Taking a deep breath, Jc says, "Okay. I'm fine with that. Sam, let me just go ahead and say, I might be your friend, but if you hurt my daughter I'll hurt you ten times worse."
"I wouldn't dream of ever hurting her." Sam says. "I'd hurt myself before I ever hurt her."
Wow. Did he really just say that?
Jc nods. "I'm fine with you two cuddling up every now and then, but no funny business? Okay? I'm not about to be a grandad."
I laugh and throw myself at Jc. "Thank you."
We hug for a minute before Jc says, "We better get back out there before they think I've killed you two."
The three of us walk back outside and my eyes land in Trevor and Kian. Their backs are to us, the pool in front of them. It's so perfect. Time for some revenge.
"I'll be back," I whisper to Sam.
He laughs. "Go get 'em."
With that, I walk over to Kian and Trevor and push them in the pool. The two of them scream and fall in. There may or may not have been cursing involved. Use your imagination.
The two of them climbed out of the pool, and glared evilly at me. I knew exactly what they were thinking.
"You wouldn't dare," I said.
"Try us," they said.
Then I ran, with them closely following me. I was almost in the door to the house when I felt someone pull my shirt back.
"Ahh!"
Trevor's face ends up right in mine. "Jeez, Alex. Scared much?"
"Let me go!" I say, struggling against him.
"No can do sis!" He says extra perky.
I glare at him. "I really hate you right now."
"Psh, you love me. Kian! Come help me."
Kian lift me by my arms and Trevor grabs my feet. "Sam! Jc! Help me!" I yell. But instead of helping me, (like they should have), the idiots sat there and laughed.
"Ready?" Kian asks me.
"No!" I yell.
"Oh well!" Trevor says.
They start swinging me and counting down.

Then they throw me in the pool. Too bad for them though, cause I managed to drag them both with me. What did they think? I was gonna go down with them?
The water is warm, unlike the water from the bucket that was poured on my head earlier. It's actually quite refreshing.
I pop up out of the water before Kian and Trevor. In the corner of my eye, I see Sam, Jc, and Ricky laughing. All three of them are fully dressed, and dry too. Well, with the exception of Sam. But he's still more dry than I am, so that has to count for something, right?
With an evil plan in mind, I pull myself out of the pool and walk over to them. Kian and Trevor are right behind me. But God only knows if they know what I'm thinking.
I smile at Ricky, Jc, and Sam. All three of them give me a strange look. Almost like they know I'm up to something. They just don't know what.
"You three look a little too dry for this party." I say. It dawns on them what I'm doing. I jump on Sam's back, soaking him. Trevor and Kian follow suit and jump on Ricky and Jc. It wasn't my intention, but it works.
"Alex!" Sam yells. I hear the other guys yelling and people around us laughing.
I laugh. Sam's arms hold my legs up and I rest my head on his shoulder.
"Hi," I say.
"Hey," he says, turning his head slightly. "Why are you on my back, again?"
I shrug. "Well, the view up here is nice. That, and I'm soaking wet. I thought you should be too."
Sam sighs. "Of course. But you know, I think it would be more fun if I did this." Then he takes a running start for the pool. I squeal, and moments later we hit the water.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few hours later, I'm sitting in the roof of the house, thinking about last night. It hadn't been long since everybody had left, and the guys still needed to pack for the trip. So, I'm finally getting some alone time. Some time for myself before this trip we're going on. Tomorrow morning, we are off to Florida. I've never been there. The guys say it's nice.
My thoughts wonder back to Sam. Honestly, I wasn't in love with him. Major crush, but not in love. What is love anyway? I mean, I've never really had parents that loved each other to look up to. There's never really been anybody that I was willing to give a chance. Sam is the first. Somehow, he managed to break my shell. I'm glad he did. Sam is cute, funny, sweet, and a really good kisser.
God help me. This is why I shouldn't be left alone with my thoughts. I start thinking about things like that.
"Alex!" I hear someone yell.
"What?" I yell in response.
"Pizza is here! Come eat!"
I groan and get up. A sudden wave of exhaustion washes over me. I need sleep. But first, I head downstairs and grab a slice of pizza. As I'm heading back upstairs to finish eating and go to bed, Jc calls me out.
"Alex, where are you going?" He asks.
"Bed," I answer.
Jc gets up and walks toward me. "Without telling us goodnight?"
I let out a little chuckle and hug him. "Never." I say.
"Good." Then he pulls back. "Might wanna tell the rest of the guys goodnight. They're in their rooms."
"Okay," I say, and head upstairs. I make quick stops by Kian, Trevor, and Ricky's rooms before going to Sam's.
"Knock, knock." I say, walking in his room. Sam is on his bed, shirtless and in his boxers. My eyes widen, and u try to look away, but it's almost impossible.
A grin spreads across his face. "Why are you staring so hard?"
I blink and force myself to look away. "I'm not."
"Was too!"
"Was not!"
He laughs. "Whatever you say, Alex." He sits up and pats the bed next to him. "What's up?"
"I'm going to bed."
Another smile spreads across his face. "You want me to join you?"
I shake my head. "No."
I said it too quick. Sam rolls his eyes and says, "Yeah, you do."
"That's not what I came in here for. I came to tell you goodnight."
"Sure," he teases.
"Sam! I'm serious."
"Hi serious. I'm Sam." He says, sticking out his hand.
I groan. "Sam!"
"Alex!" He pouts. "You really don't want to sleep with me?"
My head jerks at what he said. His hand flies over his mouth. For a minute, we just stare at each other. Then Sam speaks up.
"I didn't mean it like that. I meant like last night."
I let out a sigh of relief. "I figured, but the way you said it sounded like you meant something else."
Sam pull me into a hug. "Nope. We're not gonna do that until you're ready."
My head buzzes at that. Until I was ready? What about him? Isn't he supposed to be part of that decision? Or is he already ready? I feel my cheeks warm up at the thought of that. Why am I having these thoughts?
"You okay?" Sam asks.
"Yeah," I say. I give him a quick kiss on the lips. "Goodnight."
"Wait," he says as I'm walking out his door. I turn my head in response. "Am I sleeping in your room?"
I shrug. "Sure."
"I'll be there in a few."
Both of us are smiling. In the inside, I'm still freaked out. But the fact he's going to be next to me in a few minutes makes me all warm and fuzzy and happy. With that, I turn and head to my room.
