How to do ships:

There's a lot of things you need to do before hand  if you want to rp your oc in a relationship correctly.

Avoiding what I'm going to call "The Basic Bitch in love" trope.
Which is basically your oc losing all of their character the moment they enter a relationship.

This has happened to me before so I know that it is kinda hard to do at times. There is something to make it easier though. It's called Love Language.

Different people love in different ways. There are five different categories of love language and putting your ocs in those categories can make roleplaying them in love 100x easier (atleast for me)

Well, you've come to the right place
They are:

Physical Touch
Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Acts of Service
Receiving Gifts

You can look deeper into those if you'd like and I highly recommend doing so.

But you might ask, how does this have to do with my ocs? Well, love language is a two way street. Let's use an example of one if my ocs, Nina.(I use her for everything, get over it. ) The love language that she'd want to receive is Quality time but she actually expresses her love through giving gifts. People can have two different love languages for how they want to receive love and how they want to express it.

Looking into these categories and adding diversity to how affection can be given helped me not make my ocs become copies of eachother when they are in love. It can add dimension to the character and make the task of playing such a strong emotion 10x easier.

Now that you've established how your oc shows love I've already tackled how chemistry works between ocs. So let's talk about some tips to make your ships more realistic.

• be sure to remember their flaws, every oc should have them.

• DON'T HE AFRAID OF CONFLICT BETWEEN THE SHIPS!! That's NORMALLL

• Have them kind of respect eachother pls, I'm tired off seeing ocs being babied once they get Inna relationship

•Know what a toxic relationship is and don't normalize it.
