HOW YOU GET THE GIRL 1.3

at some point after I left, my mom had gone out, leaving me home alone. I sat on the sofa in the living room curled up under a blanket. I put on season one of Game of Thrones and made myself a cup of coffee. I let all thoughts of Ashton Irwin and 5 Seconds of Summer slip away, and attempted to relax the best I could. the rain had started again and was battering the windows.

only 10 minutes in to episode one, there was a loud banging at the door. probably just someone trying to sell me something, I thought. but who would bother coming out in this weather? I ignored it.

two minutes later, the banging started again, but more urgent.

⠀"coming, coming." I muttered, frustrated, walking to the door still wrapped in my blanket. I unchained the locks and opened the door, the cold wind hitting me in the face.

a figure stood there, soaking wet and hidden by the shadows.

⠀"hello?" I said.

⠀"C-Cas?"

the figure stepped forward, now illuminated by the light from my house.

⠀"Ashton?" I gasped, choking the name out.

⠀"Cassie," he said, the rain mingling with his tears. "Cassie," he repeated my name again, still standing in the rain.

⠀"w-what are you doing here?" I whispered, clutching the door tightly to keep my balance.

⠀"Cassie, Cassie, I'm s-sorry. I was too afraid to tell you what I w-wanted." he shivered, his hair soaking and dropping down his face.

⠀"Ash, this is-"

⠀"I want you for worse or for better, Cassie, and I swear I would wait forever and ever. i can never apologize enough for breaking your heart, but let me put it back together. I will wait forever and ever, for you."

⠀"Ashton," I sobbed, my whole body shaking. my whole being longed for his touch. "I-"

he practically ran into me, wrapping his hand around my waist and slamming his lips down onto mine. the kiss turned instantly hungry, our lips moving quickly together, like there was nothing that existed except us.

⠀"I'm sorry," he muttered in-between kissing me, one of his hands caressing my neck, the other moving down my lower back.

⠀"Ash," I moaned just as he swept me up off the ground and into my house.

⠀"is your mom home?" he asked, panting.

I shook my head as he placed me down on the sofa, placing wet kisses up and down my neck. he lifted up my shirt, and left kisses all the way down my stomach to my belly button.

⠀"I should've told you longer ago, Cas, I can't say sorry enough times to make up for leaving you like that."

⠀"why did you decide to visit me now?" I said as we both separated to speak.

⠀"I haven't been back here in months, Cassie. 5SOS became so much more famous than any of us could have ever predicted. I wanted to contact you, but I didn't want to hurt you or give you false hope. then tonight, I saw you at our show here-"

⠀"wait, you saw me?"

⠀"I couldn't take my eyes off you." he muttered, tracing a finger down my face gently.

⠀"I thought you'd forgotten about me." I whispered.

⠀"you are my sun and my moon and my stars," he smiled. "it took me a while to realize I loved you in a different way to just best friends. because I do love you, Cas. I love you more than anyone."

I let out a sob and wrapped my arms around his neck, crying into his shoulder. nothing had ever felt more natural than when I was with him.
