"MOM!"
"Hm? What's wrong Kya?" Katara asked as a small girl ran into the room.
She was currently focused on healing her other daughter who had taken a nasty spill in the courtyard. Ursa looked up, her blue eyes still glistening with tears, and sniffled. Kya finally caught her breath and tilted her head up, golden eyes wide.
"Mom! Auntie Toph's here!" Katara finished healing Ursa, who shot up and ran toward her twin sister, and grinned.
"Well c'mon girls, let's go greet her," she said, bending the water back into her pouch and following after the girls.
"Mom! Hurry!" Kya taunted, giggling. Katara laughed and chased them down the hall not registering the flash of red and blue in time and running straight into someone, knocking them both to the floor.
"I'm so sorry I-- Oh, hi honey," she said, looking down into the face of Zuko, who's eyes were widened.
"Katara? What happened?" the Fire Lord asked, his body stiffening.
"Oh no, it's nothing, the girls just told me that Toph arrived and I guess I got caught up in the chase." Zuko sighed, and Katara felt his body relax. He looked up her, smiling.
"Well uh, this certainly brings up memories," he said, referring to their current position. She blushed and cursed herself for blushing. She was married to this man! They had two daughters together! He smiled, pressing a kiss to her lips before flipping them over and pulling her up with him. She dusted off her clothes, a cohesive mix of her Southern Water Tribe style and fine Fire Nation attire meant for nobility, elegant purple splashed in between.
Zuko brushed a stray hair out of her face lightly grazing one of her signature hair loops. She stifled a giggle at the sight of her husband, the Fire Lord, fixing her hair but neglecting his own, a piece of it stuck on his gold fire crown. She stood on her tiptoes and fixed it for him and then swiftly met his lips for another kiss. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him.
"Every time we kiss feels like the first time," he said, smiling down at her. She grinned.
"I feel the same way."
"Ew! They're kissing!"
They both turned to see Aang and Toph, the latter of which was pretending to be grossed out. Aang was dressed in traditional Air Nomad clothing, mixed with a pale green sash, and Toph was wearing a light green top, exposing her baby bump, and loose tan pants, cuffed yellow at the bottom.
Katara rolled her eyes. "Toph, you're literally pregnant. How do you think that baby got in there?"
Aang blushed and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. Toph grinned and crossed her arms.
"Oh I'll tell you all about it, Sugar Queen."
"Toph!" Aang cried out, embarrassed. The man was older, wiser, and almost a foot taller than his wife but when he was going back and forth with her the two of them seemed much younger.
"Oh please, like you and Fire Lord Sparky don't have the same conversations," she said, playfully sticking her tongue out at him. Katara looked at Zuko, amused.
"Is it true?"
"Uh, well--"
"He's lying," Toph teased, feeling his increased heartrate through the stone. Zuko blushed, barely forming his defense. If they were having this conversation ten feet to the left this wouldn't be happening.
"Where are the kids? I thought they went to go find you," Katara asked, concerned that she could no longer hear the two six year olds running around. Aang frowned.
