Chapter 10

I didn't have a fiance, girlfriend and secret lover. I need not to worry about it because I was young there were a lot of fish in the sea. Only a few weeks before prom night, this will be my last prom night. I can't decide if I'll go since I don't have a date yet and friends. But I wanted to experience it before I go to college.

Our class in Chemistry was done and some of the students were gossiping. Jacob heard it and it's all about tonight's party in his house. Jacob's family was one of the richest here in the State. They were excited because they know it's gonna be a big party.

He said, "Everyone, I expect you all to come to my party tonight. This will be our last year in this school. Let's enjoy each party that we have. And God bless America."

All of them were shouting including Chloe. She will be there for sure because she's the girlfriend. I like to go to the party not for Chloe but to enjoy the party. Jacob was right this is our last year. But the thing was I don't have any friends or someone to talk to and it will be awkward since Chloe was mad at me.

Half of the students left the room, including Chloe and her gang. There was a girl walking to my seat.

"Hey nerd. Are you coming tonight?" That girl was Ashley, Jacob's cousin. She was one of the hot and mean students in school but sometimes she was kind to others. Some say that she is a bipolar but since I know the attitude of Chloe, I know Ashley's attitude is normal. She has a hot body, blonde hair, and green eyes.

"I don't know yet", I smiled.

"Don't be like that. Just go tonight, I can be your date. If I forgot, you can use my name. Say to them that I'm your date so it will not be awkward to you to go. You will be famous when they know. If I see you there maybe I will talk to you for five minutes. Enjoy your year nerd. I will offer this to you once."

I thought about it in a minute and the offer was not bad. I wanted to see Chloe too but I knew that I'll be jealous of what I'm going to see. But my guts told me I need this so I decided.

"I really appreciate your offer Ashley. I will go, thank you so much. By the way my name is Nate."

"Good. See you later nerd."

Since it was a party, I needed to wear casual clothes, not a nerdy one. But my hair and glasses were still the same. I wore jeans, black jacket, a gray t-shirt and sneakers. A cool nerd, maybe it's alright to look like this, still me.

I was at the party and there were a lot of people there. Most of them are seniors. This was my first time going to a party, I was so nervous. It was so loud because of music, people laughing and some are gossiping. Some of them were drunk, playing, kissing and flirting. I heard someone say 'Hey' to me but I wasn't so sure because it was crowded.

It was not bad at the party even though I didn't have someone to talk to. Nobody cares that I was here and it was not awkward at all. I was so thirsty so I got one beer and when I turned around, I was surprised it was Chloe and she looked surprised too.

She said, "Why are you here?"

"Jacob said everyone could come in here so I'm here." I whispered to her so no one will hear, "It's nice seeing you here Chloe. You look beautiful"

"Whatever nerd. This is a party but you ruin my mood."

"I'm sorry". I wanted to tell her that I went to the party because I wanted to see her. But she was still mad at me so I didn't tell.

"Is something wrong in here Chloe? Is this nerd bothering you?" It was Samantha, Chloe's best friend.

"It's okay Sam. He was just blocking my way."
