We need somewhere private, so I decided to go to the library. Since it wasn't far to the party room. She didn't say something on our way there. Nobody was in the room, we were all alone.
"Take a seat, please." I got the other chair and put it besides her. "Look Chloe I'm very sorry for what's happened tonight. First of all, my father never mentioned to me that I have a fiance."
She never talked and looked at me. I hold her hand, "Chloe please talk to me. I'm really sorry."
She had teary eyes and pushed off of my hand , "You lied to me."
"I did not lie to you. Let me explain, I just want everybody in school wouldn't know about my family's wealth. I'm not a liar, I just wanted to hide all of the things about me. I know you're going to be my girlfriend but I don't know how to start telling this to you. I love you so much Chloe."
She cried, "You love me? I looked like a fool there. I was just your classmate. You never tell me that you got into Stanford. I don't know what to call you, they called you Nathan including that girl. You like her so much, she's pretty and smarter than me."
"That's not true, I don't love her. I acted like that because I don't want my father to look like a fool there. I need to pretend that I was happy. I said you're my classmate because you said that nobody must know that we're talking to each other. In our house, they called me Nathan. Elena called me it because her family were always here. About Stanford, I don't know. I don't have the guts to tell you about it."
Ste stood up and wiped her tears, "Stop it, I heard enough. I can't forgive you Nate. I'm so hurt right now. We're not secret lovers anymore or anything, we're over." She left the room and dumped me.
It took me half an hour to absorb what she said. There's a lot of pain in my chest, especially seeing her cry. I was back at the party room and Chloe's family were gone. I sat back on my seat.
Naomi whispered, "Are you okay Nathan?"
I smiled, "Yeah."
The party was over and I texted Chloe but she never replied to me. I only messaged her once and I said that I was truly sorry. This was my first heartbreak and it really hurts me. I can't sleep waiting for her to text me back but my phone never receives any.
It was Wednesday and I was at my last subject, Algebra. After the bell rang Mr. Brown said that he needed to talk to us, me and Chloe.
Mr. Brown said, "Chloe I am happy, you're doing good in this class. Nate is doing great on you."
Chloe smiled, "You mean it Mr. Brown that I'm doing good?"
"Yeah."
"So that means I don't need Nate to tutor me. No offense but it's better for him not to tutor me so that he can focus on his study. He is really good Mr. Brown."
"Good to hear. Since you understand the problem of some examples, I think Nate will stop tutoring you."
"Okay I need to go now, we have a practice. Thank you for helping me Nate." She smiled at me and I nodded then she left us in the room.
Mr. Brown said, "You never disappoint me Nate. Thank you."
"No worries Mr. Brown."I left the room knowing that I can't go to her house. She wanted me to not be a part of her life. If that's what she wanted I guess I will respect it.
Another week passed and we didn't talk to each other, I missed her so much. I wanted to have a quiet place to study so I went outside of school and I sat down under the tree. There were few people there and I was the only one who was alone.
