All But A Nightmare

After my party was over me and Sadie cleaned up the house before my dad go back from his business trip in morning .
"Do you wanna go out tomorrow tonight?" Sadie said as she was throwing the plastic cups away.
"Go out where? If it's another party I'm gonna have to say no."
"No no no. I mean like go out and eat. Maybe go to a sushi bar?"
"You had me at sushi." I said laughing.
"Great." Sadie said laughing.
It took about three hours to clean inside the house and 2 hours to clean outside the house. So it was 7 in the morning all ready. Soon enough my dad comes in.
"Girls! What are you two doing up?" My dad said.
"We woke up around 6 and straightened up the house a little before you came home." I said have truthfully.
"Well since your up I got you a present for your birthday." My dad said as he hands me a big box.
I open the box and the are new books that haven't even been out yet.
"Dad how did you get these."
"Let's just say I'm a rich man that has money."
I got up and hugged him.
"Thank you dad. I'll read them all in one week" I said laughing
"Well girls I'm exhausted so I'm going to sleep." Dad Sadi walking upstairs.
Sadie then gives me a worried look.
"What Sadie?" I asked.
"I think there is someone in his room." Sadie replied as she got up.
"Madison who the hell is this girl in my room!" Dad yelled as he ran down stairs with a girl who had red hair.
"I'm so sorry Mr. Banks she's my cousin. She wasn't feeling good so I told her to go lay down in a guest room but I guess I should've showed her." Sadie said as she grabbed the girl's arm.
"Oh I'm sorry I just dragged her down like that, that was rude of me. Here $20, it's not much but I feel terrible."
"Oh no Mr. B she doesn't want the money she just needs to go home where she belongs." Sadie said as she snatched the money out of the girl's hand and gave it back to my dad.
Sadie walks out with the girl and gets in her car. My dad looks at me and hugs me.
"I'm sorry I yelled. It just made me think you threw a party at the house especially this house. I mean if you want to have a party all you have to do is ask and I'll rent a place for ya."
"It's fine but I don't like parties. Me and Sadie just stayed here and ate the cake she got me. There is still some of you want any?" I said
"What kind of cake is it?"
"It's vanilla. It was so pretty! I got a picture of it look." I said as I should my dad the picture.
"Oh it's gorgeous. Sadie didn't have to do all that. I would've bought a cake if she asked." Dad replied.
"Sadie did though we've been friends since we were little kids. This is what bestie friends do."
"Well do you wanna join me for a slice of cake?" He ask as he grabbed a knife.
"Of course." I said smiling.
I took a seat and dad cut three slices one for me and two for him. I laughed at him. He gave me the 'don't judge me' and started laugh too. As we were eating the cake we made small talk. We talked about his trip and other things.
"Later me and Sadie were planning on going to the sushi bar later tonight is that okay with you?" I asked
"Yeah of course. Welp I'm going to sleep so good morning hun."
"Good morning dad."
He kisses my head and walks upstairs. Then I get a text from Sadie.
Sadie- This chick really thought I was gonna give her a ride home. Bitch I don't know you 😂😂
Me- omg you just left her on
the streets?
Sadie- No I gave her a ride to
the bus stop 💀
Me- wow your so nice 🙄
Sadie- Ikr! I'll be back in 10!
Me- kk love you
Sadie- love you too

Maybe she was at her house getting some stuff? Brushing her teeth and picking an outfit.

I decided to call her but it went straight to voicemail. Nothing. She is probably taking a shower at her place.
*Later that night*
"Dad... I think something happened to Sadie." I said as tears filled my eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"She been gone all day dad! I wanted to call the cops but I know I can't file a missing persons report until they have went miss for 24 hours. I can feel it. Something bad happened." I said crying into my dads chest.
"Let's call her mother first maybe her mother kept her home."
I called her mother and she said Sadie hasn't been home since yesterday. She began to panic and she eventually called the cops but like we knew they were gonna say we have to wait 24 hours. The cops think she ran away because 'she is a teenager after all'
I didn't sleep at all that night. I just waited for her to pull up to my driveway and have an excuse why she was gone all day but she never showed up.
*A couple days later*
Sadie was officially missing for 3 days, we had a search party look all over Los Angles. The cops find her car at a old gas station, no phone or anything. Cops took people in for investigation, I knew they were gonna do an investigation on me because I'm her best friend.
"Mr. Banks we have a reason to believe that your daughter has something to do with Miss. Vanity's disappearances. We would like to take her in for an investigation." One detective said from the living room.
I was in the dining room of course.
"My daughter has been here the whole time. Since Sadie went missing." My dad said calmly.
"She could be working with someone sir." The other detective said.
"Fine take her in but you know what you aren't going to find anything because my daughter loved Sadie more than anything and Sadie felt the same way about her!"
The detectives came in and I just got up and got in the car without talking. When finally got to the station they handcuffed my hands.
"Is this necessary?" I asked
"Yes." Was all he said.
The cop leaves and the number one walks in.
"Hi I'm Charles. Do you know why you are here?" Charles said as he sat down.
"I'm here because you think I hired someone to kidnap my nest friend and probably even murdered her." I said with a bitchy attitude.
"Did you?"
"No I would never! That's my best friend, my sister, my whole life!" I said as I started to cry.
"You know we have gadgets that tell us who you've called and who've you texted. Even if you deleted it we can still see it." Charles said as he smirked.
"Then fucking do it. How about you gather some actual evidence that I had something with this whole thing then you can arrest me but right now I'm not arrested so I would like to be uncuffed." I said as I cocked my head to the side.
"Fine." He walks out and back in with detective number two.
He uncuffs me and sits back down and so does the woman.
"We looked at your text and your calls... and you were right there is no evidence of you having anything to do with Sadie's disappearance. But do you know anyone that wanted to hurt her or anything." Detective two said.
"I know there was a guy Sadie got alcohol from. Sadie threw a party for my birthday and I called the cops to shut it down. But back to the guy he whispered in her ear and told her something. She said he wanted to hang sometime. He was old enough her dad and mine."
"Can you describe what this man looked like?" Charles said as detective two took a sketch book out.
"He look about 38-40 years old, he had a mustache that stop at his chin and he had short hair, he had like almond shaped eyes, and a scar on the left side of his face it was like a scratch."
It took a few minutes to finish up but after she was finished she showed me. I was left in shocked because it looked exactly like him.
"That's him."
"Do you know his name?" Charles asked.
"Sadly no." I said.
"Okay thank you for the information. Your father is on his way to pick you up." Detective two said as we all walked out.
That's when I received 1 message from Sadie.
Sadie- please help me before he kills me! Madison please!
I stopped and fell to my knees. She's alive.
"Detective Charles!" I said.
