I hugged, sitting back up in the bed and staring to the wall bored "oh Miss Carpenter! You're awake" the nurse came into my room with a smile. I patted my messy hair down, an attempt to make myself more presentable
"Yea..how long has it been?" I ask "it's just gone 3, love. You've been asleep since 11" she replied, puffing up my pillow and tucking the covers over me more "Did my friend stop by..?" I ask curiously
She nodded, picking up a bag from the chair across from me "a brunette girl dropped this off, she said to message her of you want her to come back" she explained as she gave me the bag
"Thank you..do you know what's happened with Peyton..? Or is there anyway I can speak with the doctor?" I ask. "I don't know anything I'm afraid, I will go and find him for you though" she smiled before leaning the room
I pulled the bag closer to me, my laptop, a new phone, earphones and my writing notepad. I smiled, she's so thoughtful. I took out the laptop, opening it up and going onto Netflix, desperately looking for something to cure my boredom
I found a show, untangling the earphones as the doctor walked in "Miss Carpenter, How are you feeling?" He asked with a smile "I'm okay thank you..has anything happened with Peyton?" I ask
He shook his head "Not really, his heart rate is looking better but he hasn't woken up yet. You're doing well though, by the looks of things we're gonna keep you in for another two or so days just to make sure and then you'll be allowed to leave, we can arrange for you to come back in a few days after to have your stitches taken out" he replied enthusiastically
I nodded, "do you want anything to eat or drink? Anything brought in?" He asked. "Uh can I have some water please" I ask politely. He nodded before disappearing out the room
I went back to my laptop, putting my earphones in just in time for a nurse to come back with the water "here you go" she smiled, putting it on the table beside me
"Is everything okay, Miss? You're looking a bit dull, can I get you anything else?" Her perky british accent shone through her words. "I..I just feel bad for Peyton, like it shouldn't have happened.." I sigh
"Well..I heard the doctors talking, they said that if Peyton hadn't of continued to try and turn the car around after you guys were hit, so that you hit the lamppost instead of him, then you wouldn't have survived. He did a very brave thing, and you're both here because of it, focus on that. Pain and injuries heal, Miss Carpenter. Death doesn't" she smiled before leaving my side
I sighed "great that helped" I mumbled to myself, pressing play on the laptop as I began to unbox the new phone, snapping the case onto it and putting the SIM card In.
I set it up while I watched my show, giving me something to do until I felt tired again, waiting to be released and see peyton
