Prologue

"Els! Tara na lunch na tayo!"

Wala pa ako sa kalagitnaan ng binabasa ko when someone suddenly shouted my name. I quickly closed the book I was currently reading and rolled my eyes internally. 

Seriously, when can I find a place where can I study peacefully? Dahil alam kong pipilitin lang naman den nila ako, I stood up from my seat and voluntarily followed them outside our classroom.

Its time na kase for lunch. Usually, normal students will be excited na lunch or recess time na so that they can finally have a break from massive discussions ng teachers namin but exempt me from that. Kahit na oras ng pagkain ay inilalaan ko sa oras pa rin ng pag-aaral. I am a very studious person that's why I'd rather spent it to something useful in my studies.

This is how my parents raised me. I grew up in a well known family of doctors or kung di naman doctors ay mga pamilya ng mga dean's listers, top notchers, laudes and many more. Kaya ganito nalang talaga kataas ang expectations ng mga magulang ko. I couldn't blame them because I am an only child and I am the only one na inaasahan nila. The least thing I wanted is to disappoint them.

"Ano ba yan Els! Live a life naman!" Tati playfully slapped my shoulders when I have gone out of our room. 

She laced her hands around my arms just like she usually do. Sila kase pag lunch, they will go downstairs sa canteen para bumili ng snacks pero what makes me kinda pissed off is that sa kabilang campus pa nila gusto bumili because sabi nila mas maganda daw yung tinda don. They didn't now na masyadong time consuming yon dahil its in the other dimension pa ng school at sa Senior High School Department pa!

"May quiz mamaya sa math. Di ba kayo mag-aaral?" I was walking with Tati, Issa, Niki, and Alexa papunta sa Senior High School Department when I asked them about that.

Before I forgot, this four are one of my best of friends. If you're thinking that I am an introvert person and that I don't like myself socializing with others then nagkakamali kayo. Kahit konti man sila, at least they're the ones whom I can really trust the most.

It's not about the quantity ika nga, its about the quality, attitude and the personality ng mga pinipili mo na kakaibiganin.

"Mag-aaral siyempre! Pero kailangan muna namin ng inspiration" Niki smirked and winked at the for us which earned a very loud squeal from Sam and Issa. 

These three, really.... Eto kaseng tatlong toh, they're the type na ang hilig sa lalaki. Maski k-pop pa yan oh ano, basta gwapo crush na nilang tatlo! Kaya naman pala they kept going here sa SHS Building dahil may inaabangan silang mga gwapo na mga grade 11 at 12!

"Hay ewan ko sainyong mga haliparot kayo, basta bilisan niyo!" they just laughed at me at pumunta na sa mga stalls doon sa canteen ng SHS Department. Meanwhile, kami naman ni Alexa ay nakatayo lang sa gilid ng drinking fountain. We are patiently waiting for them na matapos na bumili but the line's too long. Mukhang matatagalan pa ata kami rito.

Time to time, I will occasionally check my wrist watch kung time na ba. Bat kase pumayag pa ako na sumama sa mga toh?! Only if I didn't have sympathy to wait for them eh matagal ko na silang iniwan at nagbasa nalang. Ganito kase kapag matalino (not that i am bragging), we just wanted something to learn every single minute of our day kaysa sa walang ginagawa.

"Ugh, I told you guys dapat don nalang tayo sa canteen ng building naten eh!" I groaned while I was fuming in frustration. 

We were five minutes late! Mas nakain ata ng oras yung pagpila nila kaysa sa pag-kain nila eh! They haven't even opened what they bought, habang nagmamadali kami ay kumakain na rin sila. Lucky them, nakakain pa sila ng ganyan samantalang ako...

Duh, kanino namang choice yon edi saken ren naman. But I still envy them. They've got time to have some fun and can attain paren a higher grade.

"Sorry na, but let's just walk faster" Tati said at nagshort cut kami sa gilid ng SHS canteen dahil may hagdan don paakyat sa third floor kung saan may way don papuntang HS Department.

 I can't consider this a short cut dahil third floor ang lagusan to SHS Dept. at nasa second floor kami kaya kailangan pa naming bumaba. UGH I TOTALLY REGRET THIS!

Dahil nga sobrang madali na namin para makahabol sa after lunch class, I didn't notice na may nag overtake samin at nasagi ako, making me shoved myself against the wall. Hay.. minamalas nga naman ano!

Before I can even stood up and regain my balance, tinulungan na ako ni Niki na makatayo. I still felt dizzy. What did i do to deserve this unfortunate situations!

"Hoi tangina mo Lesley magdahan dahan ka nga!" sigaw ni Tati ng malakas. 

Bilib talaga ako sa babaeng toh, kahit na nasa hallway kami and a lot of students and teachers can apparently hear her curse but she was brave enough to call that guy who didn't even bother to look behind kung may nasagi ba siya!

Fuck him! Oops! that came out wrong.

But the guy Lucho? Lance? I didn't remember his name, he didn't spare a glance at patuloy pa rin siya sa pagkaripas ng takbo. Gladly, we successfully reached our classroom but luck wasn't at my side again because our teacher locked the front and the back door so that no one can iterrupt her class.

I just wanted a peaceful school life! This is my first time!

We remained standing sa harap ng classroom, buti nalang hindi lang kaming lima ang nandito sa labas dahil marami-rami ren kami. Our class wasn't the favorite section in our grade level because lahat na ata ng klase ng mga estudyante andito. The troubled ones, the good ones at yung iba, mediocre.

Nangalay na yung mga kaibigan ko but I still stood up at hindi sila pinapansin. I'm not mad, I'm just really scared. First of all, this is my first time experiencing this and second of all, di ko alam kung magiging bad thing to para sa studies ko lalo na at main subject to! I'm going nuts thinking about the discussion na nangyayari sa loob. 

What if it's important? Ugh!

Bigla naman akong napatingin sa kanang gawi ko ng may isang medyo matangkad at kulot na lalaki na tinutulak tulak yung kaibigan niya sa akin. 

Hays... boys. 

I watched them as they continue to do that at medyo nasasagi na nila yung shoulders ko. My eyes turned wide at the site of this guy na tinutulak tulak nung may curly hair. I tried to recollect my memories if i ever met this guy with a black thick hair... I think i have encountered him but I couldn't remember who he is.

He's familiar...

OMG.

He's the one who pushed me against in the wall!
