Matthew 5:17-20
New International Version

The Fulfillment of the Law

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.(A) 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.(B) 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands(C) and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.(D)

Over here, we realise that by ourselves it would really nor work. The Pharisees and The Teachers of the law were those kept the commandments and obeyed them to the letter. They were like those Holier than Thou kinda people....So ask yourself, how can your righteousness surpass such people?

You must realise that even your righteousness is like a filthy rag before God. We are not righteous by our own deeds but by God's grace. Because now, Christ lives in us, we have the righteousness of God. So to all those out there, You Must Be Born Again!!

Prayer Point: Dear Lord, please help me to live a life that pleases You. Let Your Perfect Will prevail in my life. Search me O Lord, and get rid of all impurities, refine me. Please come and make my heart Your home. Create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast Spirit within me. Thank You for salvation and thank You for righteousness. May I never abuse Your grace by using it as a license to sin. Please help me to use Your grace as the power to overcome sin in Jesus' mighty name Amen.
