Every single being around her showers her with praise. She is used to it by now.

Huh, of course. Filthy peasants who are just obsessed with the outer shell.
Good for her though. Playing with their conscience like this is a piece of cake. Making them all do whatever she desires just with a graceful gesture. As if they're all puppets. They are indeed.

She walks towards the grand mirror in her personal sunroom. Though the room should no longer be called that as it's now entirely covered with pitch black satin curtains.

She takes in her own reflection. Fair complexion, unblemished skin, high chiseled cheekbones, doe eyes with long lashes, blood red full lips, long thick dark hair. Epitome of perfection. She smirks lightly. No doubt people will find even that ethereal. She made sure of it.

But what does lie underneath of it? Underneath all these unearthly charms, lies deception and...

"Your highness..." A servant timidly addresses.

Selene snaps back at the intruder with her eyes narrowed and brows furrowed.

"How dare you enter without knocking the door?" She sneers.

"I... I didn't i-intend to, I was only-" The maid is lost for words. She is literally shivering.

Then the maid freezes under Selene's commands. She could tell the exact moment when her queen's pupils had dilated and her iris shed an icier shade. It is also clear that this might be the place where she breathes her last.

Author's Note: The idea of this fanfiction came before the finals. Yeah, pressure makes your brain overactive. I was like, what if Levana never tried to kill Princess Selene and thus she was crowned the Lunar Queen? Would she turn out to be cruel just like her mother Channary and become a tyrant? And would there be a situation where Earth and Luna need to have a marriage alliance? *smirks* I can totally see Kai hating Selene initially. Later, he might have a good influence on her. Who knows?
P.S. Selene sure has the confidence to look at the mirror so boldly, just like her mother.
