The summer holiday seemed to slip by pretty fast. My final year of high school was beginning. I was nervous yet excited to start school. Yeah shocking for me too. I was mostly glad because the faster I start the faster I'll finish.
Darrien had asked my dad's permission to take me as his girlfriend and he agreed. That also shocked me. But he did sit us down and had a very very long talk with us.
Darrien decided that since it's his last year he'd start to drive to school instead of taking the bus. Plus he'd be staying later at school for training.
I pulled on my uniform and ate breakfast.
I heard Darrien's horn honk at my gate.
I ran to the car and hoped in and he drove off.

"Are you excited?" Darrien asked holding my hand.

I looked at him and smiled

I looked at him and smiled.
"I am a little excited yes," I said and he kissed my hand.

We walked into the school holding hands.
"The power couple is here," Leslie teased as we walked to the locker.
"Stop it," I said blushing.
"I think we are," Darrien said and kissed my forehead.

Class ended and Leslie and I decided to wait on the boys to finish practice.
We sat talking as we waited. The whistle blew and the boys ran over to us. They tried to hug us but we ran.
"Ewww," we chorused.
"If you don't want me like this, then you're never getting this ever," Darrien teased as he continued towards me. I groaned and gave up. He looked at me.
"You really want this," he teased again.
"Would you just go and shower," I said pushing him.
"Fine," he said and ran towards the locker room.

Leslie and I waited outside.
"Hey Bri," I heard Alexander's voice say behind me. I turned and looked into his eyes.
"Hi," I replied.
"I've missed you," he said walking closer.
"I haven't," I replied coldly.
"I think you're lying," he said walking towards me.
"No I think she's telling the truth," Darrien's voice said as he walked towards us. He wrapped his hands around me hugging me from behind and whispered in my ears, "I love you." I smiled.

"Whatever," Alexander said and walked off

"Whatever," Alexander said and walked off. We all burst into laughter.
"Ready babe?" He asked.
"Yeah. Can we stop somewhere on my way home?" I said climbing into the car.
"Sure. Where?" He asked.
"Slushes," I said.
"Slushes? Why?" He asked confused.
"I really want to rub it in Shenelle's face that I have a boo," I said. He laughed and shook his head.
"You're something else," he replied and drove off.

He pulled up in the parking lot of Slushes and we went in. We went up to the counter and thankfully Shenelle was there.
"Hi Shenelle," I said reaching the cashier.
"What loser? Ohhh is that your brother?" She said looking at Darrien. I smiled.
"Babe what flavor do you want?" Darrien said as he threw his hands around me.
"Babe?" She said.
"Yeah. Now can I order or what?" Darrien said. We ordered then left.

"How'd I do?" He asked as we continued on the journey home.
"Amazing!" I squeezed and he laughed. We continued to talk and laugh then I got home and did my homework.

7 months later
School was going good and I was enjoying every last bit of it. Today our school would be playing my ex's school again. I was really confident that we'd win. I really wanted us to. I didn't want Alexander to feel he had anything over Darrien.
I pulled on a blue ripped jeans pants, a red jersey shirt, red sneakers and a black sweater.

I walked to Darrien's car and sat buckling my seatbelt

I walked to Darrien's car and sat buckling my seatbelt.
I looked up seeing he was looking at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Are your parents home?" He asked.
"Yes," I answered wondering why he's asking me that. "Why?"
"You're wearing a pants with rips in them," he said looking at my pants.
"Yeah. You hate it?" I asked
"No I don't. Just wondering how your dad allowed that," he said.
"He's actually not as strict anymore since we started dating," I told him.
"That's good," he said and leaned in and kissed me then drove off.

The game started and the teams seemed tense.
No one was scoring. I sat shaking my leg nervously. I saw when Alexander tripped Darrien.
"Fowl!!" I screamed standing up angrily. The ref saw as well and called it. The game ended and we screamed in celebration. We won! 5-2. Darrien looked up at me and smiled as the guys hugged each other. I saw Alexander look at him and started to walk off.
Darrien walked to him and said something to him then I saw Alexander punch him. They started to fight.
"No, no, no!" I said as I ran to them. "Stop!" I cried out as I got near them. Persons gathered around them as they fist fight each other.
"Darrien!" I shouted but they didn't pay me any mind. The principal and a few male teachers came and pulled them apart. Darrien shoved them off and angrily walked off.
I ran after him. He sat in a classroom on the desk.
"What were you thinking?" I said when I saw him.
"I'm not in the mood Bri," he said using his shirt to wipe his face. I looked at him and his face mouth and nose was bleeding. "That son of a bit** hit me"
"Why did you even approach him," I said looking at him.
"Bri," he said and I saw his fists fold.
"So you're gonna fight me too?" I asked angry.
He sighed and released them.
"I'd never hit you Bri," he said looking at me. I shook my head and walked out. "Bri!" He called.

I returned to the class with a first aid kit. He was still sitting in the position I left him. He looked up at me. I could see he was crying.
"You didn't even come after me," I said taking the things to dress his wounds.
"I'm angry. I'd only make it worst," he said looking at me. I touched his wound with the cotton and he flinched. "Aaa!"
"Good," I said and continued. He kept starring at me the entire time. "Done."
"Thanks," he said holding on my waist.
"You're welcome," I said and he held my face and kissed me.

"Let's get you home," I said when we parted and I drove us home
