It was Friday and I informed my sister I'd go to another party while she attend her rock concert. She was happy about this as I wouldn't fit in with 'her kind of croud'.
I looked through my closet and draw and found the perfect fit. I pulled on a plaid skater skirt, black long sleeve blouse and black knee high boots."Now for my hair," I said standing in the mirror. I pulled my hair in a high ponytail and curled the ends and put in a pair of hoops.
My sister dropped me off at Drew's house. I walked towards the back where I saw most persons and where the music was coming from.
The place was packed. Why did I ever think this was a good idea? I've never been to a party without my friends. I looked around, I saw teens drinking some even already drunk, others dancing and grinding on each other. I reached the back and saw Drew and walked towards him.
"Wow," Drew said as I approached him.
"What?" I asked standing in front of him.
"You look great. Pity I have a girlfriend," Drew said looking me up and down.
"Really!" A brown hair, short, fair complexion girl said as she saw Drew flirting with me."We're just friends," I assured her assuming it's his girlfriend.
"I know silly. I'm Leslie," she said
"Im Brianna," I replied.
"I'm gonna leave you ladies," Drew said and walked away."I like love your shoes," she said breaking the silence.
"These old things," I replied looking down at myself.
"Old! Those look like designer boots," she said continuing to check them out.
"I wish," I said with a laugh.
"Where'd you buy them," she asked
"A thrift store in town," I answered
"Gonna have to visit it one of these days. Mind if we go together?" She asked.
"I'd love to," I answered. We exchanged numbers then she went to find her boyfriend.I walked around the party trying to find myself a corner not too populated. I found a spot and leaned on the railing looking around.
"Hi! Looking good," Darrien said as he spot me.
"Thank you," I answered looking at my outfit.
"Am serious, you look amazing," he said leaning me beside me.
"Don't let me blush," I said playfully. Darrien smiled at me. For a moment neither of us exchanged any words.
"Would you like something to drink?" He finally said
"Yeah sure," I answered then he walked to the house.Darrien's POV
"Nice going dude," Drew said as he met up with me at the bar area.
"What are you talking about?" I asked even though I knew what he was referring to.
"Don't try to be smart," he said.
"I don't have to, it's natural," I said and we both laughed. "She's pretty great. I must say she's not as bad as I thought."
"Told you," Drew said. I collected the drinks then left to join Brianna again.Brianna's POV
"Took you long enough," I teased as Darrien approached me.
"Drew happened," he joked.
"Were you guys talking about me?" I asked taking a sip of my drink.
"What if we were?" He said with a smirk.
"Were they good things?" I asked in a flirty tone.
"Maybe," he said with a grin on his face.
"So what were you saying about me?" I enquired.
"That's between me and my friend, confidentiality," he said sipping his drink.
"Right," I said looking at him with a hand on my hip.
"Brianna!" Leah said as she saw me. "I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Neither was I," I replied.
"Aaaa, Ashley cancelled her party, she wanted to be at Drew's party," she said nervously
"I see," I said coldly.
"I'm really sorry Brianna," she said
"Hmmm," i replied.
"Im gonna go," Darrien said and started to walk away. I quickly reached and grabbed his arms. They were very firm and muscular, I could tell he worked out quite often.
"No stay," I said. He turned and looked at me and then to Leah.
"Yes you should. My boyfriend must be looking for me anyways," Leah said then turned and walked away.
I sighed and looked down at my drink. Darrien turned and looked at me. "You girls need to work out whatever is going on between you two," he said.
I looked up at him and sighed loudly.
"I know, but I don't think I'm ready as yet," I said then explained to him what happened between us.
"Look I know what happened is bad but you're best friends. Worst coming from so far. I don't think you should throw that away," he said looking at me.
"I know, I will soon," I answered continuing to stare into his light blue eyes.
"Ok. But soon. Before it's too late," he said.
"Will you stop scaring me," I replied breaking the stare.
"I'm not. It's reality," he said.
"Reality sucks," I said finishing my drink.
We stood in silence for awhile then he said, "come on it's too noisy," he said and took my hand and walked to the house.
"Wow, nice house," I said as I entered the living room of Drew's house.
"Yeah it is," Darrien replied.
We walked into Drew's room and stood on the balcony looking down at all the people at the party.
"So how are you two brothers?" I asked turning to him.
"Long story," he answered.
"I've got time," I replied.
"Well..." he started and told me the entire story.
"Awww that's so romantic," I joked.
"You're crazy," he said with a smile as he pushed his hands in his pocket and looked over the balcony.
