Chapter 14: Tracking Them

In shop class, Peter was hitting the weapon core with a hammer, while Arash was flinching with each hit worried about that thing exploting, even he was ready to put a force field around it, the surprise factor still scared him a little and more when the core was emiting a purple light as it was partially freed from the metal casing.
"Are you sure you know what you are doing?" – asked Arash looking over the other boy's shoulder
"You don't trust me?" – asked Peter
"Sadly, I do" - said Arash still looking worried at the scene
"Hey" - called out Ned quietly appearing next to the superheroes - "thanks for bailing on me" – he complained
"Yeah, well, something came up" – said Peter pointing to the glowing core
"Uh, what is that?" – said Ned excited
"I don't know, some guy tried to vaporize me with it" – explained Peter
"Seriously?" – asked Ned
"Yeah" – said Peter
"Awesome" – said Ned earning a weird look from Peter and Arash for his reaction – "I mean, not awesome, totally uncool of that guy, so scary" – he corrected
"Well, look, I think it's a power source" – said Peter
"Yeah, but it's connected to all these microprocessors, that's an inductive charging plate" – said Ned signaling to a part of the weapon – "that's what I use to charge my toothbrush" – he added with a smirk
"I just understand half of what you just said" – said Arash confused
"Whoever's making these weapons is obviously combining alien tech with ours" – explained Peter
"That is literally the coolest sentence anyone has ever said, I just want to thank you for letting me be part of your journey into this amazing..." – started to said Ned when it was interrupted by Peter hitting the core again
The core popped out of its place making Arash flinch again and holding the brown haired boy's arm who look at him susprised and the Prince realizing what he did he moved off Peter's arm blushing.
