Chapter 20 - Battle... Begin!

You swallowed, but when the first pokemon got sent out, you froze.

A shiny Volcarona.

You were shaking. You were never a fan of bug types. They freaked you out a bit, but you had fought Muffet, so what was the difference?

"Alright, (Y/n), you go first." Sans smiled, letting you off his shoulder.

You growled, "Try me..."

"Volcarona vs Eevee. Begin!"

"(Y/n), Shadow Ball!"

You jumped in the air, using the move, before Milly seemed to get a look on her face. Like a smirk.

She nodded, and Volcarona flew out of the way. You were slightly amazed.

She moved her hand in a circular motion, and Volcarona used Fiery Dance, hitting you to the ground.

"Wait, how did it-?!"

"We don't have to say moves anymore. Volcarona knows what I'm thinking, or rather, it can feel what I'm thinking."

"Urgh... (Y/n)-"

You stood, growling, looking at Volcarona. You jumped on rocks, climbing them, making it to the highest one, above the pokemon.

Sans seemed startled, and worried. "What are you doing?"

You growled, jumping down. Sans was about to save you, but Milly shook her head.

"Let's see how this goes."

Your tail began to glow, with a metal sheen, and you spun, hitting Volcarona hard with Iron Tail.

All that late night training paid off.

"Volcarona..." Milly uttered, her eyes glowing slightly.

You landed, back over with Sans, but an emerald eye showed itself in the sand that had been kicked up.

Volcarona barely seemed phased.

"What?!"

"Iron Tail is a strong move, but it isn't enough to hurt Volcarona."

You took a step back, ears going down slightly. But you growled.

"..." Sans looked at you, wanting to switch, but you looked back.

You shook your head a bit.

Sans immediately smirked, "Try us!"

"You asked for it. Volcarona!"

A different hand motion. It was just and opening and closing of the hand, but a stream of fire came towards you. Incinerate.

You jumped out of the way. You had begun to learn what was coming.

"(Y/n), you know what to do."

You smirked, jumping on a rock, and using a move you had worked on for a while now. You winked, hearts flying and circling Volcarona. When the move had ended, nothing happened.
