On the walk, Luna had been talking about her friend the entire way. You began to get a bit sick of it, but she was happy.
"She is literally the nicest girl you will ever meet. But she won't say it though. She actually thinks quite low of herself. I try to bring up her original personality before school weighed her down, but..."
Luna sighed before continuing, "It hasn't worked. She's been in this state for a while, even saying after one last trainer comes to her gym, she'll have to close it down... but if she closes it down, she won't be able to interact with the other gym leaders anymore..."
Sans stopped, looking at the wolf girl. "Wait, what?"
"Mmhm... she won't be allowed at meetings, at the battle tower, nowhere!"
".... Let's get there soon, shall we?"
Luna nodded, and it became a run. But that was when something blocked you from going.
"What the hell is that?!" Sans exclaimed.
Luna seemed to be laughing slightly, "Its a Purrloin, calm down."
The Purrloin looked at you with... a smile.
"Hello there, young Eevee." She stated.
"Oh, um... hello..." you muttered back.
"Making a new friend, (Y/n)?" Sans asked.
You shook your head, pointing ahead. "Let's keep going, please..."
Sans nodded, "We need to get going. Let's get going."
"Yeah. Lets go." Luna smiled, leading you both to where her friend's gym was.
When they reached the city, there was a crowd around the gym, trying to get in.
"What's going on?" Luna asked.
"We are trying to get the gym to close. She won't let us in though." A random man said, trying to pry open the door.
Luna growled, "Just because she said the last battle was nearing doesn't mean it's with you."
That was when a girl walked out of the gym. Auburn hair, brown eyes, and wearing the typical outfit for female trainers back in Sinnoh. An area you didn't remember ever being.
"Oh, Luna. Who is this?" She asked, gesturing to Sans.
"I'm Sans. The gym leader back in Ebbot."
The girl instantly perked up, "Okay, and why are you here?"
"I came for a challenge."
"A challenge, you say?"
"As in, a gym challenge."
The girl smiled, "Sure. Come on in. One last battle, then this gym closes for good."
Then, you all walked inside, hearing the cheers of the townsfolk.

"Alright, the rules are this. We choose 3 pokemon. There is a twist though. You can't switch, and neither can I. Fair battles. I am all for that." Milly, the gym leader, explained.
Sans nodded. "Alright, you send yours out first."
"One last thing... this gym isn't like usual gyms... this one is all about bonding with your pokemon better. If a pokemon is weak on either side, you make a choice. Heal it mid battle, or switch and let it rest."
"So it's about knowing what your pokemon wants. Not about pure battle?"
"Exactly. Now, we begin. And, for the sake of it, fire types on my end."
She grabbed 3 pokeballs, and walked over, switching the battle field. It changed to one with rocks and an uneven layout.
This would be interesting.
The battle will be in the next chapter.
