The medical-nin and the Jonin (Kakashi x Reader)

Welcome to the Team!

You lay upon your bed fast asleep, until a ray of sunshine shone through your bedroom window, straight onto your face. The bright light caused you to wake up. You slowly open one eye and take a glance over to see the time. The time read 6:30 am. "Five more minutes" you groaned. Your alarm then rang and you shot up like a light. You rub the sleep out of your eyes and get out of bed. You go to shower and do your regular morning routine.

You then walk to your closet and picked out an outfit. You knew you were getting an assignment from Lady Tsunade. She claims this assignment will be very important. In fact, more important than any of the other assignments you have received from her. This sparked your interest and you have been dying to find out what the assignment was. Well today was the day!

You walk over to Lady Tsunade's office. "Ah (y/n), good morning! I am sorry to wake you up very early for this assignment, but this is very important, and it requires a lot of training." Lady Tsunade says with a smile. "Lady Tsunade, I am so excited for this mission!" You exclaimed. She smiled. "Well I think you will enjoy this one. You will be joining a team! You will be their personal healer! I believe that you are strong enough to go with a team!" Lady Tsunade then gets up from her desk and walks towards the door. She reaches towards the handle, until the door suddenly swings open hitting Lady Tsunade.

"Haha the best team ever has arrived!" Screamed a boy with spiky hair. Lady Tsunade then had an irritable look on her face. "Naruto!" She screams. "Grandma Tsunade! Hehe sorry" the boy says rubbing the back of his head. Lady Tsunade puts her fingers to the bridge of her nose. "Naruto, where is the rest of your team?" She asks. "Oh they are running behind, I ran ahead of them! I wanted to be the first to meet our new member!" The boys looks over to you. "Hi there! I am Naruto and I am going to become the next Hokage, no matter what it takes!" He exclaims. "Uh...hi! I am (y/n). I am so excited to join your team!" You smile.

A few minutes pass and then two new people walked through the doors. It was a black haired boy, about the same age as Naruto, and a pink haired girl, also about the same age. "(Y/n)!" The pink haired girl called. You actually knew who she was. This was Sakura. She has actually been training with you and Lady Tsunade. "Another medical-nin to join! I am so excited!" She runs to you and gives you a hug. "I am so glad to be your teammate!" You said hugging her back. You then look to the black haired kid. "Hi I'm (y/n)!" You say waving to him. "I am Sasuke." He says with a faint smile. "He seems shy." You think to yourself. "Ugh is he late again?!" Sakura yells. "You know he never comes on time. He is probably gonna have some lame excuse like he always does." Naruto says. "Who is this other person?" You thought.

Not long after, another figure walks through the door. "Sorry I am late, I got lost on the path of life again!" He says rubbing the back of his head. "Kakashi-Sensei, you always have that excuse!" Naruto exclaims. You stare in disbelief. You know him. This man use to be your best friend as a child. You have not seen him in several years. Kakashi then looks over to you and walks over to you. "Hello, I see you're the new recruit. I am Kakashi, who are you?" He asks smiling through his mask. "How does he not remember me? Have I really changed that much, or has it really been that long since we've seen each other?" You thought to yourself. "Shy are we?" He asks with a chuckle. "Ah no, I am (y/n)! It is nice to meet you!" You say. He gives you a smile. You smile back. "He doesn't even recognize me even when I told him my name." You thought.

"Well now that we have introduced each other, I want you guys to train for a bit. I need you to understand each other. Create a bond. This will help you guys." Lady Tsunade says. "Alright!" Naruto yells. You all then exited her office.

You all exited her office and went outside. "Who's up for some ramen?!" Naruto exclaimed holding his stomach. "Why not? Team bonding is a good start." Kakashi says while staring at his book. You guys start walking to Ramen Ichiraku. You take short quick glances at Kakashi. "He really has grown up a lot. He still is cute though." You thought to yourself. Kakashi notices you staring and he looks up at you. "Is something wrong (y/n)?" He asks. "N-no! It's nothing!" You say trying to hide your blushing face. You look over at his without him noticing and see him smiling through his mask. "Maybe he does remember me? Maybe he's pulling my leg like always use to." You thought.

You all sat down at your tables and began eating your ramen. Kakashi was the only one who didn't eat. He just sat there reading his book. "What is so good about that book anyway Kakashi-Sensei?" Naruto asked. "You're too young to know. It is just good." He says keeping his focus on the book. Sakura looks over at you and smiles. "Don't mind him, he is very quiet. But once you know him, he is pretty cool." Sakura says. You nod and smile. You look over at Sasuke, almost forgetting that he was here. You lightly elbow Sakura and she looks over at you. "Is he always this quiet?" You ask whispering. "Yeah he doesn't talk much. But he does when he wants to." Sakura says. "The team is full of interesting people. I hope I fit in well." You thought to yourself.

"Well I'm stuffed!" Naruto blurts out. Everyone else finishes as well. You look outside and see that it is getting a little late. "Were we really here for that long?" Sakura asks. Everyone shrugs. "Well of course! Time flies when the best team is out on the village!" Naruto yells with a big grin on his face. Everyone starts to chuckle. "Well then I guess we all better get home and rest!" Sakura says. "Yes, because tomorrow we start training. Everyone meet together at 9 am." Kakashi says. Everyone nods and goes their separate ways.

As you started walking off, you hear a voice call out to you. "(Y/n), let me walk you home." Someone says. You turn around and see Kakashi behind you. "Oh no that's okay, my house is not that far from here." You say. "No, I insist. Plus it would be nice to get to know you a little better." He says looking away from his book. You start to walk and it is dead silent. "So much for getting to know each other" you thought. "So tell me, what do you think of us?" Kakashi asks. You stop for a second and think. "Oh uh well, I already know Sakura and we are really good friends. Sasuke seems really quiet, but he seems nice, Naruto is very loud, but entertaining at times." You say. "And me?" Kakashi asks. You look at Kakashi. "Well I don't really know yet. You seem nice." You say. But that wasn't all you wanted to say. "You were my best friend and I want so bad to just run up to you and give you a hug. But it's obvious you don't remember me." You thought. "Huh, well I may seem bland at first, but just you wait." He winks. You blush a little.

You reach your house. "Well this is my house! Thank you for walking me home Kakashi." You smile. "Yeah no problem." He says. He then turns around and walks away. You enter your house and get into your pajamas. You then go to your bed and plop down. "How does he not remember me? I clearly remember him. We were apart of each other's childhood! We were best friends!" You thought. You laid in your bed staring at your ceiling thinking about all of the memories you had. "Oh how I missed him" you sighed.

Kakashi's POV:
I enter my house and sit in bed. "I can't believe (y/n) is on our team. It has been ages!" I thought smiling. "I feel bad for acting like I don't remember her, but I don't know how to talk to her after everything. I mean she loved Rin, and I killed her." I thought. I felt a tear form. I wipe it away not wanting to cry. "I missed her a lot. She got even cuter than the last time I saw her." I felt a smile form. I lay down in bed staring at the ceiling. "In good time I will tell her. I will greet her the proper way." I then feel myself drifting to sleep. I stop fighting the sleep and finally drift off into a deep sleep.
