As the weekend was fast approaching, I was able to send my parents a letter asking them if they would let me go to Hogsmeade this Saturday so that me and Pansy could look for dresses. I was able to receive their response on Friday along with a bit of money for the dress.
As I was on my way alone, I had caught up with Hermione again on my way.
"Clarity! It's nice to see you again. Are you going to Hogsmeade as well?" She smiled at me and I nodded my head happily.
"Indeed, Ermione! And...who are you going with?"
"I wanted to come and ask you to go with me and Ginny! I'll introduce you to her and I bet she'll like you!" She beamed happily.
I offered her an apologetic smile. "As much as I would love to go, I can't. I've already made plans with Pansy, Blaise and company." Her face turned with a hint of shock but she shook her head and smiled at me.
"Oh, just be careful around okay? I'll see you after the trip!" She gave me one last hug before we went into separate directions
After I handed out my permission slip to Madame Maxime, I was able to get along with Pansy, Blaise and Draco.
"Do you have trips like these in Beauxbatons?" Pansy asked as she interlaced her arm around mine and hugged it close to her.
"Since Beauxbatons is situated in between two mountains and a garden field, we usually go out to the markets in Cannes for the weekends. But most often, I only hung around in the park."
Hogsmeade was nothing like I had imagined. It was filled with people whom have known everyone in Hogwarts or from the Brittish Ministry. The shops aligned from a joke store, inns and candy shops. I was about to head over to this store called 'Honeydukes' to buy candy when Pansy pulled my hand and pulled me into a dress shop.
"Has anyone asked you yet, Clarity?" Pansy asked as she was moving hangers.
"Viktor Krum asked me, he was actually sweet and all that but I turned him down. He was rather looking at Hermione, than at me." I chuckled as I recalled the soft memory. But Pansy on the other hand had sneered. "Can't imagine he would like that mudblood."
I turned to the other side of the shop as I picked up dresses in my hands. "But they look cute together." I butted.
Pansy only shook her head and entered the dressing room with heaps of dresses in her arms. My eyes caught the prettiest dress - baby blue in color that was buttoned in the back but sweetheart neckline on the front with white lace. I picked up the dress and turned to face Pansy who got out of the dressing room.
"I'll try this one on, can you wait for me?" She nodded her head and I proceeded inside.
As I was putting on the dress, I had grown to like it and very much adored my reflection in the mirror. It hugged my curves perfectly and the flowy skirt made me feel like I was a princess. I smiled at my reflection knowing that I had chosen the perfect dress for the event.
"Clarisse Carpentier, you have been there for long and I wonder-" Pansy had started ranting on the outside, I opened the door of the fitting room and stepped out to show her my choice of dress.
"Well? How do I look?"
"Bloody Merlin! You look so beautiful!" She cried out loud and eyed me up from top to bottom. I smiled and did a little twirl for her to see the back part of the dress as well.
"I'm definitely getting this!" I happily told the lady in charge as I slipped back on my clothes from earlier.
On the other side of the village, inside Three Broomsticks were Draco, Blaise, Pike, Crabbe and Goyle occupying a table near to the door themselves. Each of them had a clear cup of butterbeer. Except for Goyle who was already on his second serving.
"Who'd you take to the ball, Blaise?" Draco asked as all eyes were on him.
"Easy. Parkinson." The lad smirked. He earned cheers from the table and a whistle from Crabbe.
Draco's mind was clouded with thoughts. But these thoughts were the uninvited thoughts. And they were mostly about the Parisian girl - Clarity. Would he ask her to the ball? That was the question.
"You look deep in thought, mate. Anything caught your wand in a knot?" Blaise asked as he placed a hand on Draco's shoulder. But Draco could only shook his head. "Have you ever been in love?" He suddenly blurted the question out.
All of them looked at him dumfoundedly. Goyle spat his drink on Crabbe and Pike and Blaise blinked twice in confusion. Obviously the question came from the person they were not even expecting to ask.
"Dimwits all of you. I'm serious here!" His face started to turn pink in color from the embarrassment. Blaise placed a hand on his bare forehead.
"He's normal in temperature, alright. What happened to you, mate? Are you actually in love or something?" And that question hits home for him. Was he really in love? And if so, could it that he was falling for his Parisian girl?
"I think he's going bloke and mental. Look at him." Crabbe said and four pairs of eyes eyed him as he swung his cup and chugged all of his drink down to his throat, leaving no content in sight.
"It doesn't matter now." He mumbled, dismissing the subject. He couldn't hear the new topic that Blaise brought up. He was still lost in his own thought, in his own world. Pike, Crabbe and Goyle seemed immersed in Blaise's new topic as well.
But his question still lingered in his mind. But one thing was very certain today.
He fell in love with Clarity.
