I started walking towards the big brown building I'd soon call my high school. I was nervous. I had barely made friends in all the other schools I'd gone to, who said this one was going to be any different. I looked down on the ground and stood still for a second. Without looking up I started walking forward. After counting to ten in my head about 12 times to calm down, I looked up again. I was right in front of the main entrance. The sliding doors opened quickly and I flinched. I shook my head and walked inside. There were colourful lockers on both sides of the hall. I saw a lot of people, but tried not to stare. After all I didn't want anyone meeting me when I was this nervous.

Suddenly a slightly short girl with blonde hair popped up in front of me. Behind her were 4 other girls. They looked more embarrassed than happy if I'm being honest. "Hi!" exclaimed the girl the short girl, her blue eyes so open her eye balls could pop out. Her smile was so big I was pretty sure I could see her second molar.  "Hello." I said smiling less enthusiastically. She toned down the expression on her face. "You must be the new guy! I'm Vilde. Nice to meet you." I was still nervous so I said the bare minimum. "I'm Isak. Nice to meet you too." She smiled again. She turned around, "Girls! Introduce yourselves." The first girl who dared to speak was wearing red lipstick. Her hair was so blonde it was almost white. It went down to her shoulders. Her eyes looked the inside of a cut green grape. "Hello. I'm Noora, welcome to our school." I nodded "I'm Eva", said the tallest girl of the bunch. Her hair was only slightly longer than Noora's, but it was light brown, ginger almost. Her eyes were dark blue, kind of greyish. I just nodded again. "Ok, so I'm Sana. Welcome." Sana's black lipstick matched the color of her hijab and her eyeliner. I guess I'd nod to all of them, so I nodded yet again. "Sup, I'm Chris." said the last girl in between bites of her burrito. Her hair was in a messy bun, it was dark. Her eyes were light brown. She winked at me and I was caught off guard. I nodded at her, more awkward than I had at the others. We all just stood there for a while when I finally told them I had to leave to sign in to the school with the principal.

When I arrived at the principal's office, I saw a gang of 3 guys. "Welcome Mr. Valtersen" said the principal from his chair. "These will be your buddies. They'll introduce you to the school."

"This is Mahdi", he said while pointing at the guy on the left. He had dark skin and eyes. He was wearing a cap the cool way, but I could see that his head was shaved. "Hey" I said and he tilted his head back quickly as if saying hello. "The guy in the middle is Jonas" said the principal. "Yo." Jonas said. "Hey" I let out. Jonas had curly black hair. His eyebrows were kind of bushy but his eyes were really green. The principal stood up, "I'm Mr. Vatt" he said while shaking my hand, "and the last guy to the right is Magnus." Magnus was blonde and blue-eyed. "Sup bro!" he yelled. I laughed a little, "Sup".

The boys I had just met were taking me around the school. It was completely silent. "Um..so, what school did you go to before this one?" Magnus asked. "Many. My mom and I move a lot for her job, so I haven't really been settled in to one school for a while." I said clearly. "Let's stop here, in the cafeteria. It's not a normal school today. It's kind of a chill free day where you decide your classes." Jonas said happily. I smiled. We sat around a table and Magnus was asking me all sorts of questions, until Mahdi interrupted. "What class are you starting, or how old are you?" I waited a little before answering. "I'm 16. So first year of high school." They look glad. "Welcome to our class then." Jonas said. I laughed a little.
