A month and eleven days have passed traveling with Owen. He's a really nice guy. Sometimes wild, but nice. My Mudkip, and Owen's Torchic and Aron evolved into their secondary evolution forms: Marshtomp, Combusken, and Lairon. But, do you want to know the weirdest part is today? It's my eleventh birthday today, and for some reason, Owen brought us to Ever Grande City. I kept asking him why, but he said that it's a secret. What is he hiding?

"Raina?" I closed my journal and looked at Owen. "Yeah?" He took my hand . "Let's go. Oh, and close your eyes, too." I grumbled, keeping my eyes shut.

"Owen, how much longer?" I complained. I heard him laugh. "We're here. You can open your eyes now." My eyes snapped open to see a familiar building. "Why are we at the League?" Owen grinned. "Don't you remember? The match between Brendan Birch and the Hoenn League Champion is today! And we're gonna watch it!"

My eyes widened. "You mean...?" Owen smiled. "Yep. Happy birthday, Raina!" I hugged him. "Thank you so much!" He laughed. "Alright, let's go in."

We got in just in time for Brendan and Steven's match to start. I watched in awe as Brendan and Steven battled each other until both of them were down to one Pokemon. Then, when it looked like Brendan was about to lose,he quickly turned the tables and caused Steven's Metagross to faint instead of his Swampert, making him the new Champion.

"That was the most amazing birthday present I've ever got." I said to Owen. He smiled. "It's not even finished yet!" "What do you mean, Owen?" I then got tapped on the shoulder and turned around to see none other than...

"Brendan?!" I yelled. The new Hoenn Champion smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck. "Owen and I are childhood friends," He explained. "He told me that it's your special day today, so happy birthday, Raina!"

I smiled. "Aww...Thanks, Brendan." He grinned. "You're welcome. I gotta go now. Happy birthday again, Raina, and I hope I see you two again!" Brendan got his Skarmory out and flew away. I hugged Owen. "Thanks for this  birthday surprise."

Owen, you sly fox. You really went all-out for her. Anyways, they now meet Brendan! So now you know how Raina meets Brendan.

Next Chapter: Even though these two have differences, they have similar interests as well. Who knew both of them loved music?
