Ali's POV

I walk into Ash's office and, see her focused on what seems to be paperwork. "Knock knock." She looks up and smiles. "Hey pretty lady." She says, in a bad southern accent. I chuckle and walk over to her. She takes my hand and pulls me onto her lap. She kisses my neck and wraps her arms around my waist. "Hi." "Hi." I say, and connect our lips for a quick kiss. "So what are here today for?" She asks. "What I can't surprise my wife at work? I thought maybe you would want to go grab some lunch?" "Mmm that sounds great right now 'cause I could really use a break from all this paper work." She says, motioning toward the stack of papers on her desk. "But I thought you loved doing paperwork?" I tease, and she laughs. "Well you thought wrong." She responds. "I know come on let's go get you fed." I say, and hop off her lap and grab her hand. She nods her head and stands up. "Your car or mine?" She asks. "I asked you to lunch so, I'm driving." "Yes, ma'am." She chuckles, and kisses my cheek. We get to my car and she drops my hand to open my door. "You're such a gentleman." I giggle. "I try." She says.

I kiss her on the cheek and get into the car. She runs around to the other side of the car and gets in. We go to a deli for lunch fifteen minutes away from Quantico station. I park the car and Ash hops out, runs over to my side of the car, opens my door and holds her hand out. I take her hand and whisper in her ear. "I hope our kids are just as chivalrous as you someday." I look up and smile at her and she does the same. "I love you." "I love you too." She says, then kisses my hand. I order a tuna melt and Ash orders a turkey club. After, we get our food we go sit down at a table. "Is there any way you can leave work early next Tuesday?" I ask. "Yeah, I'll just have to let the Colonel know, Why?" Ash says. "Well we have an appointment Tuesday." I inform. "I sure as hell don't want to miss that." She smiles, before taking a bite of her sandwich "No, you really don't." I confirm. "So, when do we find out the gender?" She asks. "Well I'm three months so maybe this appointment, if not then definitely the next one." I say, taking another bite of my sandwich.

"What do you think we'll have?" She asks. "A girl, what about you?" "Boy." She says, finishing her sandwich. "If it is a boy let's hope he's not as reckless as you were, when you were a kid." I say finishing my sandwich. "Who me? Never. Who told you about that?" She asks, playfully acting offended. "You're grandma when I met her for the first time." "Of course she did. Please tell me she didn't bring out the photo albums?" "That she did." I laugh. "Where was I during all of that?" "You were out surfing with Corey." "Okay, but if we have a girl. She will be the death of me if she takes after you." "What the poor Marine can't handle another princess?" I tease. "Okay first off, you're my queen. Second, if she likes to shop just as much as you do, boy am I in trouble. But on the bright side you'll have a partner to go shopping with so, you won't have to drag me along. Finally, I don't think I can handle two Krieger women 'cause you'll definitely be the death of me." "Oh honey. You married me so, you will never get out of shopping with me." I say, she groans. "Why me?" She grumbles. "Because you love me." "That I do." She says, kissing my cheek. She looks at her watch. "Let me guess I have to get you back to work?" "Sadly." She pouts.

I drop her back off at work and head home. Once home I make some phone calls, check my emails and do some things around the house. I relax on the couch and wait for Ash to get home. I turn on Netflix and catch up on some of my shows. An hour into watching Stranger Things, I feel my eyelids getting heavy. I curl up on the couch and take a nap. The next thing I know Ash is standing over me, with a smile on her face. "Hey sleepy head." She says. "Hi. When did you get home?" I ask, groggily. "Five minutes ago." She says, moving my feet so she can sit down. I reposition myself so I'm cuddled up to Ash. She kisses the top of my head and puts an arm around me. "How was your day?" I ask. "Eh. It was okay besides all of the paperwork I had to go through, for personal that are being stationed here. But I think the best part of my day is when you stopped by. Over all, not so bad what about your day?" She asks. "I called Tom today about retiring, I told him why he was sad that the team was losing 'an all time great' as he put it. But over all he's happy for us. I also, called Jill today, she seemed okay with it, then asked why and I told her she seemed genuinely happy, but you never really know with that woman. Then I checked emails, did some things around the house, then fell asleep watching Netflix." I tell her. "Well you had quite the day didn't you?  I never really understood Jill first she basically fired you because she wanted to give younger players a chance, then two years later she wanted you back for the world cup. It's like she can't make up her damn mind." She rants. I just kinda have to laugh at her. "Oh my sweet, protective, who sometimes acts like an idiot husband, of a wife." I chuckle. "What and that makes you the intelligent wife?" She huffs. "Yep." I say, she pouts. I lean in for a kiss and kiss the pout off her lips, which effectively turns it in to a dimpled smile. "Have I told you lately, how much I love that dimple?" I ask. "I think you have. But I still love to be told." She says. "I hope our kids have that dimple." I say. "Ditto." She smiles and kisses my cheek, before she stands up
