I rolled over and felt the coldness of the planks of wood on my face,I fluttered my eyes open and heard voices below me along with Bella barking
I looked through the crack of the wood and saw two men approaching the puppy pen where Bella was barking and growling.
I watched as one of the men pointed the guns at the dogs
"Bella shu-"Skye mumbled in her sleep before I quickly covered her mouth,her eyes shot open and she started breathing heavily
I put my finger to my mouth and mouthed 'shhh'
She nodded and I slowly let go of her
"Did you hear that?"One of the men said
"there's no one here jack,we've been sent to the wrong barn."One of them said
"No palermo said they would be here."Another said
"Well they're clearly not."One of them snapped
"Shall we go up there?"One of them said approaching the bottom of the ladder
I looked around frantically looking for a weapon
I saw some garden tools and looked back to Skye who was panicking
I crawled over to the garden tools and picked up the spade and the thing with three spikey things.
I passed the spade to Skye and we waited for them to climb the ladder
I saw a rope with a hook attached to the end of it and started coming up with a plan in my head my heart sinking further every time they took a step closer to us
"As soon as they come up,hit the first in the face with the spade and I'll jump down because it looks like there three of them."I whispered to her as quietly as I could
She gulped and nodded
"Dude hurry up."The two on the floor yelled
I watched as the head popped up and Skye jolted forward smacking him in the face with the spade
Before he fell I caught his gun
He fell back and I heard his body hit the floor
"There up there!"One of them yelled as they started shooting up,bullets flying up through the wood
"Quick-"I said as a bullet went through my foot
I paused for a split second before my adrenaline kicked in
I reached for the gun and started shooting back down at them
Skye started getting the bales and throwing them down at them for some reason but it worked
A bale fell ontop of them and it gave us time to get down
"Come in"I yelled to her as I flew down the ladder my foot numb.
"They can't get away!"One of them yelled from under the bale
"Go over there to the end of the rope Skye"I yelled to her
She panicked and dropped the spade
I grabbed the hook that was attached to the rope and pulled it down
I grabbed one of them out from under the bale and stabbed the hook into his back
"Pull!"I yelled to Skye before she started pulling the rope down and he started getting lifted into the air
He grunted in pain as his weight went onto the hook that was slowly ripping up his back as he dangled from it.
"Harper!"She yelled as I felt something hard press up against the back of my head
I squeezed my eyes shut and I could hear my heart pumping.
I heard something swipe and the gun dropped from behind me
I turned around and the body fell to the floor with a cut stretching along his neck,Rudy stood behind him with a blade
"Good morning ladies."He smiled stepping over the body
"Rudy."Skye smiled with a sigh of relief
"What happened?"He asked lowering the rope,so the now dead body that was hanging from the hook was on the floor
"We where asleep and they said that Palermo sent them here."I said watching him as he examined the bodies
"Are you okay?you have a hole in your shoe."He said looking to me then down at my shoe
"Yeah I got shot in the foot."I said putting my hands in my pockets
"Better than getting shot in the head I guess."He shrugged
"Thank you...for doing that."I said looking at him
He nodded and smiled his pimples indenting in his cheeks
"Only looking out for my little sister."He grinned before heading to the doors
Me and Skye both stood there and watched him
"So are you just going to stand there? Or are you going to come have breakfast and tell your friends your little story?"he said with his back to us
Skye looked to me and nodded with a shrug before following him
